viti - with a string of recent positives, its about time that we re-wrote the history. The LOG saga is not of this company's making, and we are now overtaking the past issues with a commendable run-in to first gas. Bacton gas prices look strong for summer conditions, rig construction and well activities all arriving on schedule, and heavyweight Buys arriving at last on today's trading pattern. Like trust, I find it hard to believe the current SP level.

gulf - I am afraid that trade interpretations and aggregates on this site are wildly inaccurate most of the time - I see a recorded trade Buy for £33k completely omitted today!

Thanks for the link Toad - and yet more positive news regarding Bacton where IOG are so committed to the gas reception facility. Blue hydrogen converted from natural gas should appeal to the anti fossil fuel lobby - and OGA estimates forecasting usage until well after 2040. At least today's drop has encouraged some modest Buys.

Agree with all this morning's posts, but have no answers to the question as to why this share defies the normal laws of financial gravity. It is my sole stock market investment so have given it intense focus for over 5 years now, and with all the advances we have now made in working progress and sound financial backing, just has me scratching my head over again. If it is LOG selling off market to satisfy bond holders for cash, then as duster says, there must be takers with an agenda - and the MMs steadfastly refuse to lower the Bid for normal trading which lends credence to that theory. But the fact remains that at this level, with a succession of positive RNS reports, PIs and others should be steaming into this on the AIM market as a taste for investment in well-founded small O & G companies returns. It is not a wing and a prayer anymore, but a viable investment prospect at over 50% discount to NAV!! Exasperating and frankly inexplicable!

GG - Your point about the potential difficulties involved in accomplishing these precise marine engineering projects is well taken - especially when delivered exactly on time and against the backdrop of the limitations imposed on working practices during lockdown. I would say that it is a presumption to have these factors "priced in" before they have actually been achieved, and we should surely be seeing some upward movement in the SP on the delivery of this very positive step towards first gas?

GG, Toad and others - exactly the right conclusions, and well earned congrats for a tricky engineering task successfully completed against a difficult backdrop. In truth, investors should be piling into this now with all the evidence on the front page, and I will be topping up as soon as funds become available.

many thanks for the report guys, and good to see the work programme is ticking over smoothly and in the recommended timescale. Confirmation in an RNS would be a positive for IOG investors and create confidence in the market. We should also get notice of a change in holdings after heavyweight transfer trades conducted off-market last week.

duster - I don't buy in to the takeover stories whilst BH are looking over our shoulder - and if one does come along, we certainly won't be cheap!

TT - agree, and you can add on 34s in Summer 2018, so the logic and the progress achieved only points one way - upwards! A nice strong RNS update on recent advances at Southwark and Blythe early next week might do the trick.

....so icemax, how do you read it? Is this a buying opportunity for the average sized PI? We have a raft of positive milestones to come on the way to first gas, so will the market be influenced either way?

Thinker - totally agree, and I think it is a case of the market just not acknowledging the progress, potential, and financial viability of this company. We all need cash from time to time, but this remains a very positive BUY at current levels. Tough to read the trades this morning as you can Buy at 21.99 and Sell at 22 !!

icemax - two more 50k Sells at 22p this morning, so you may well be right about share options being cashed, but interesting that MMs continue to hold the Bid.

That was "rogue" in the loosest sense of the word, and for cash purposes I sold 100k at 22.01. Just curious as to why these differently priced trades are usually UT - and today's under a P flag?

We are now 22.50 to Buy, with a few modest trades at this price - so I cannot understand why this LSE site produces a day graph marking the share down to 21, purely on the strength of a single rogue UT trade at this level? If you need to sell, 22 is freely available at most volumes.

Duster - we need the market to acknowledge and act upon all these positives as we develop these wells towards delivery time and first gas - if so I am sure that the MMs will move us up. I will go for 35p at first gas time and my next key moment would be the first declaration of income then dividend - say 45p at this point? Most of us have exercised extreme patience with this share, so a result along these lines would be well earned.

Many Thanks GG! That is very comprehensive and gives investors a useful diary of progress points as we move along. Of particular interest to me is the process of engagement of gas from the wells to the pipeline branches and on to Bacton for connection to the grid, where it is presumably metered for volume etc.? Are there other providers currently feeding natural gas through the Bacton facility?

gator - fully agree 100% with all your observations. Just wondering with respect to our "road map" to first gas, what the key junctions might be in terms of the working schedule? As the SP currently languishes in the doldrums, and with the work programme carrying on apace behind the scenes, perhaps our trusted technical advisers GG/Sailor could lend a clue to the way the roll-out is envisaged?

lumpy quarter mill buys might shake things up after a fairly quiet week of trading and a continuation along similar lines next week would see us emerge from a 22/22.50 lockdown. With positive news to come, an upwardly mobile SP would not be before time!

duster - we have heard this stuff from the IEA and other luminaries of the green lobby for yonks now - all ignoring the massive cost of total transformation to zero carbon, apart from the practicality of it. Similar to the electric car movement - until somebody pointed out that the anticipated cost of electric powered vehicles would keep everyone but the wealthy off the roads of Britain. GG has it right - our low carbon natural gas output will be in strong demand from first gas to the expiry of IOG field supply - probably at some time late in the next decade IMHO.
