Alfred as has been pointed out to you already, BMN produces Nitrovan at Vametco, not FeV. It is essentially Vanadium Nitride.

You have not produced a strap of paper or evidence that relates to Nitrovan.

Given the negativity of your posts you have a duty to readers to follow up on Nitrovan to ensure that you are not misleading people.

Remember Nitrovan is NOT FeV.

Did that come from the Nomad or BMN? Big difference.

Import duties are generally imposed to protect domestic industries by making imports more expensive. For example the EU imposes no duty on imported cocoa beans from Ghana, which makes sense as the EU can’t grow them.

However if those beans were to be processed into powder or even finished chocolate then they/would be subject to increasing duties as those products are manufactured in the EU from imported raw materials. That only works if the duty adds to the cost and gives a competitive edge to domestic industries. In fact it is a criticism of the EU from less developed nations that it obstructs their development.

Therefore if the US is attempting to protect domestic industries the tariff would need to be on top of the advertised price.

Just my opinion.

Irrespective of whether duties are or are not payable, go on any website regarding who pays import duties and they all say it is the buyers responsibility to pay.

The duty levied is on the value of the import.

Should duty be payable it should be on top of the quoted V price.

Perhaps the market is waking up to the fact BMN is making good profit selling to the steel industry.

Once seller has finished, and they may have already, and the market believes it I would expect sp rise to accelerate.

Global V price market appears to have fragmented. Prices in US much higher than Europe and China (see Loudspeaker’s link). How fortunate that the larger part of BMN V sales go to US.

Well I think I will leave the bb to you negative folks. I now see why so many supporters of BMN have gone to other platforms.

Would who think they can predict the share price also like to take a crack at how much profit BMN is now making and will make one the next month or so, given the high prices in the US , BMNs main market, and the one to two month delay in realised prices v market V price?

We could start with a few facts. The latest production cost at Vametco around $22 kgV. Recent US prices as high as $70 to $75 kgV.

That profit number would be an interesting piece of speculation. And fact based too!

I’ll leave that to others better qualified than me to do the sums.

Despite the current share price the business seems to be in safe hands.

Always fascinates me that anyone thinks they know the future share price on AIM.

Sadly it seems our seller (Duferco /Grafton?) is still active. Surely cannot have many left now?

Just looked in and noticed a few things:

Buys outnumbering sells today by at least 2 to 1
Share price static
No large round number sells

The last point interests me most given the number of large sells daily recently.

Of course there are many possible reasons for this and I have no idea which one would be the answer. However couple of significant possibilities:

The seller has finished (nice thought)
The price is too low for the seller (although that didn’t stop them yesterday!)

Who knows.

Found it. This comment in 2021 Interim Results which looks forward to Vanchem at 2600 mtV and the associated cost reductions through scale:

“ The increase in production will be the biggest contributing factor to a sustainable cost reduction, with Vanchem's unit costs expected to be in line with Vametco, when it more than doubles its current production to 2,600 mtV.”

Got there in the end.

So CEO anticipates Vanchem and Vametco costs will be similar once Vanchem achieves 2600 mtV.

If V costs remain above $40 kgV this will be one very very profitable company. Not doing too badly right now!

May have to amend that previous post slightly as I can’t find the relevant reference. So from Q1 Update:

“(Vanchem) 2022 production guidance maintained to between 1,750 mtV and 1,850 mtV, and production cash cost (C1) of between US$27.7/kgV and US$28.4/kgV (ZAR422.8/kgV and ZAR433.5/kgV).”

However if 2600mtV is achieved on 2023 that production cost guidance should significantly drop.

Also relevant is the following from same update:

“Chemical products at including specialist V2O5 powder, are produced at higher unit cost than that of V2O5 flake and FeV, including higher packaging and logistics costs; and hence the production costs at Vanchem will be comparatively higher than at Vametco. These products however attract commensurate premiums to the prevailing V2O5 price.”

So some Vanchem products are more expensive to produce BUT sell for a higher price.
