Those comments just 16 minutes apart. A classic lesson for our readers in how traders talk the talk. Learn the lesson and do not get taken in by these folk in future.

Daisan you may well be correct. However I think even the vanadium market will have to settle somewhere and if that is in the $70 to $80 kgV range give or take a little then Vametco remains a cash cow!

Agreed Daisan. It was a very fast rise and even faster drop. Seems completely overplayed given that many commentators in the industry believe there is a significant structural deficit and likely to last for some time to come.

Worth remembering that the pull back in V prices last year halted in late December and indeed recovered to mid $70s kgV for Jan and Feb 2019. The rapid drop through March and April seems to have been triggered by temporary factors. I would not be surprised to see V prices moving back up towards the $70 to $80 kgV range in next few weeks or months.

According to the Q4 update Vametco production costs were $19.7 kgV for 2018 and even better for Q4 at $18 kgV. The average price in 2018 for kgV was given as $81 kgV and this generated Ebitda of $107 million!

The above figures demonstrate that Vametco is very profitable at $40 to $50 kgV, but even more so at $70 to $80 kgV which it achieved in Jan and Feb. Given the one month lag in pricing even March may average the latter value. In which case Q1 Ebitda would look rather good should they choose to publish it.

If Q1 production is up on 2018 Q4, as some here have suggested, then the numbers could be even more positive.

And plenty more going on at BMN than just Vametco production and prices achieved.

I believe 2019 is looking very exciting.

This quote from Energy Fuels should be considered by those who have been unsettled by comments from "kind" people offering "balance" on the bb:

"... the basic market fundamentals that led to price increases last year - significant production cuts in China for pollution control and new specifications for rebar in China mandating increased vanadium content - had not changed and "should support today's high price levels for the foreseeable future".

Most people in the industry that I have read believe the structural deficit in the vanadium market is here for some time. To me that suggests that when the short term factors that led to this fall in V prices are over then a recovery is likely. I expect that to happen soon.

A rise in V prices coupled with any increases in production at Vametco should have a very positive impact on sentiment and therefore share price.
