The naked truth allow me to correct you.

China Ferrovanadium Prices quoted by MetalBulletin on 12.04.19 at $45 - 47 and then just six days later on 18.04.19 at $50 - 54. This pattern of prices rises for China vanadium has also been recorded by asianmetals.

So these two respected vanadium price reporting sites report rises over the last week. Good news eh?

Call me old fashioned if you like but that is a significant increase in price.

Zebediah I am simply seeking clarity from you. As you are a shareholder I am slightly surprised to find that subtle negativity in the last sentence of your 20.23 post.

Twice tonight you have stated that the sp does track the vanadium price. Unequivocal statements. Thus I was expecting an equally no nonsense agreement that v price rises so does sp. what I got was "...would like to see it rise ..." and "... all other things being equal it should follow suit..." I am curious as to why so cautious now V price is rising. That's all.

Zebediah I must also point out that over the last year or so the company have been working on Phase 2 of the Vametco expansion plan to increase production. Most will be aware that has not been without issues. However BMN have a track record of eventually getting what they want (eg Lemur takeover, Vametco acquisition) so I would expect Q1 production numbers to show an increase in vanadium produced.

Quite apart from the impact on revenue and profits I would expect there to be a significant boost to shareholder confidence, coming on top of the rising V price. So this has the potential to shift the sp up.

Looks to me very much like the tide is turning.

Zebediah you have made a case this evening that BMN sp tracks the Vanadium price. I'm not going to debate that point with you. Instead I shall ask you to acknowledge that both asianmetals and MetalBulletin, the main easily accessible vanadium market reporting sites, have shown rising prices for China Ferrovanadium over the last week. The facts are out their on their websites so that isn't up for debate.

Therefore you must now acknowledge that the sp will be on its way up in line with V prices, OR you must contradict your own point earlier this evening.

I am not venturing an opinion, merely seeking clarification from you.

Apparently unlike some others here I have no idea what impact JSE listing will have on sp. and I love conspiracy theories about company holding sp down.

In my opinion positive pressure on sp may come from any number of sources some if which include:
Significant rise in Vanadium price (ongoing)
Significant increase in Vametco production (see Q1 and H1 returns)
2018 Final Results profit figures
Dividend Policy (expected in Final Results)

Of course there are other possible sp movers:
Brits / Vametco resource updates
Mokopane licence
Eskom VRFB update
Developments with Electrolyte plant
BE news
Lemur news
Brownfield acquisition?

All rather exciting. Just my opinion of course.

Greybuzz those trades are shown on LSE. One of them is prefixed with - and therefore is the cancellation of the previous trade. Thus the net position is a single 500,000 trade. The price suggests a sell but I can't be certain of that.

I have recently been challenged by traders and derampers on this bb for:
A) suggesting that the vanadium price would soon begin to recover.
B) suggesting that the sp had shown signs of stabilising at 26p + or -.

I posted his on 11.04.19

Several reasons have been discussed here. eg stockpiling pre China rebar regs being sold off, winter shut down of some Chinese steel plants reducing demand, slower than expected enforcement of new Chinese regs, etc.

However none of these represent a long term impact on the structural deficit in the vanadium market. Eventually Chinese steel production will have to conform. Stockpiles will be exhausted. Winter shutdowns coming to an end.

Unless someone can correct me with specific examples I am not aware of any significant short term increases to production from existing plants or new sources coming on stream to boost supply and end the structural deficit. Nor am I aware of any significant longterm reduction in demand from the steel industry. And of course we are seeing the beginnings of demand for VRFBs which should gather pace in the coming months and years.

I am no vanadium (or any other metals) market expert, but simply applying logic and common sense I fail to find any other conclusion that the V price will bottom soon and start a recovery. No doubt this will be reflected in more positive comments on the bb and an increase in share price."

Two of the main vanadium price reporting websites are showing significant price rises for China Ferrovanadium over the last week. A smug smile.

And the sp has closed at around 26p + or - for the last 5 market days. Looks like bottom reached and possible turnaround. Another smug smile! Recovery underway?

Bagsandbags that depends on which if those two countries you think drives the vanadium market. I happen to think it is China. (Amount they produce, amount they consume, etc) Therefore I look to China to set global market price trends. That is why I focus on China and that is why I am very pleased to see significant Vanadium price rises in China being quoted in both MetalBulletin and Asiammatals over the last week.

Worth comparing vanadium production. How much does China produce and how much is produced in the US?

For comparison seaside can you imagine the swarm of bottom feeders that would be all over this bb if Vametco had a "break even" quarter? Not sure describing it as satisfactory would silence them. Goes to show what a strong position BMN is in, debt free, cash rich, highly profitable, expanding production and diversifying activities.

All I set out to do was to consider any quarterly trends in shipping totals to US. With one more ship possibly to arrive before end of April then the Q1 could be highest total for some time.
