I hope you are right gnome. It has been really painful here the last few years. Actually it has been pretty painful here most of the time apart from brief spell when we seem to take off and start dreaming of the golden flip flops. I notice a few of the traders who always seem to call it right have been quiet after buying in in the 90's and predicting short term rises to 1.15 -1.30. Not too many of the "I sold off my holding at 80 something and have bought back in" lot either.
A few of the jockeys who switch between here, Hoc and Ths have been quite as well as they have been falling too.
Im hoping that in the not too distant future, gold and Cey will start to fly and we finally get to see Sotolos £3 a share.

It would be nice if some of the regulars on here, yourself, Mr T , Rebess, Cowichan etc finally get the golden flip flops.

Hopefully the solar will help bring down costs. There was something about connecting to the National grid?? I wonder if that is just about going over to more electric because of fuel costs or actualy feeding into the national grid?
Also I saw mention of taking delivery of some more of the alloy bodied trucks, so that should help. I would assume that the more waste from that pile they shift, it should get easier, quicker, cheaper?

I'll admit I dont really know how to read the figures, but it looks like Martin Horgan is just trying to keep things steady, regarding the RNS and there are no extravagant promises or last minute kicks in the nuts like we have had previously.

Obviously we could do with the price of gold rising and us hitting some good good grades along the way would help.

I find it hard to understand why gold isnt higher, especially with inflation running amok.

In VERY SIMPLE terms :-) Tell me how good those drilling results were last week and how long before we start to see something for them.

Mr T -----Ive managed to blanche some courgettes, peas and turnips out of the garden and frozen some garlic as well. I've planted out some chives for the purple flowers for the bees and am thinking of getting some more poppy seeds down there as well. We have to keep the bees happy.

I suppose Mr T that we cross our fingers and hope for some good news soon. Is the update next week?
The "heap" should be getting smaller now -------and I think Cowichan mentioned those lighter, alloy bodied trucks? With the solar and the seemingly good results from the drilling, surely we must be due the turnaround soon?!
I find it hard to believe that gold has been going down, what with the war in the Ukraine and inflation what it is?
Im not much of a gardener to be honest Mr T and the ground here is not great. However, I should have 10 blackcurrant bushes producing next year (or the year after?) and i've got a big bramley apple tree + a few smaller ones.
I picked the blackkcurrants off the 2 mature bushes the other day and they will be used for jam along with some plums.
The courgettes are doing ok and I've picked and frozen some turnip.
I've also done some peas (not many) and garlic for my Niece.
Slowy getting better Mr T but hopefully Centamin will get better quicker than my garden and gardening.
Some of the chives will be going down the garden for the bees as they seem to like the flowers.
Im always doing Rosemary cuttings for people and have got thyme and oregano on the go for them as well.

Ah Yes, Mr T-----the prediction of £3 a share! Time flies. I cannot remember. Was it 2 years a ago or 3?
I remember about 5 years ago the share price was in the high 170s and looking good .
Maybe my memory is distorted but over the years, it seems like every time Centamin gets tipped in a newspaper , there is a short rise followed by a bl--dy great fall.
Im hoping that the spadework that Martin Horgan appears to have been putting in, comes good and we will see a rise and a bigger dividend before we all get too old.

Im hoping that after a diffficult time that yesterdays Rns was the straight drive past the bowler and that with the upcoming news, Martin Horgan will start to play a few shots. A cover drive would be nice, but after all we have been through here the last few years, I wouldnt mind a Rootesque reverse ramp into the stands for 6 :-)

I'd like to know from one or two of the chaps who know about such things what they make of this update and the figures it contains. We could do with some good news!
I did notice that they mentioned the full 160 km area so Im guessing that is no longer really in dispute and there is no rush (RUSH!!! ha ha) for the courts to sort out the "ongoing" court case about the disputed area?

I like some raw veggies Mr T. The point is/ was that some foodbanks are not accepting them now as people wont use fuel to cook them,

My garden is not looking too promising but hopefully better next year (he says) or the year after. The dwarf plums are not doing great on a few of the trees but they are only a few years old. A couple of the apple trees look ok and others dont.
I should have 10 blackcurrant plants next year, so maybe the year after for them?
The cougette plants are growing and the ghekin plants are getting big enough that im hoping slugs wont bother.
Ive never had any luck with cauliflower but am trying the romanesco ones this year.
Fingers crossed for the sprouts and turnips as well.

Its pretty much organic though Mr T. Stuff out of the compost bin + scrounged newspapers and cardboard.

Im hoping Centamin starts producing more sooner than Im expecting my garden to.

Mike, Im hoping they are pulling it out of the bag too. Its almost 3 years since we were flying and Sotolo was predicting £3 a share. We know what happened a few months later! We are at a third of what we rose to. :-(
Im hoping for some really good news and for the price of gold to start rising.
I find it hard to believe inflation is running at 9% (and then some) and gold is not taking off.
Maybe Mr T will say something here, but there is something wrong if food prices are rising , fuel prices are rising and more or less everything else and yet some things seem to be going on regardless.

I have heard of food banks in some places not taking vegetables any longer as people will not cook them due to gas and electricity prices!

Again, being cynical, Bitcoin seems to be falling a lot recently. I think a lot of financial institutions bought into bitcoin in the last 6 months? We wont be having to bail the banks out again will we?

Im just surpised more of the day traders who always call it right, havent said that they sold the shares they bought in the low 90;s for 85 and bought them all back yesterday.
However I am cynical :-)

I went in the garden and gold was down $20 ------------I've come back in and its down $50--------which is think is the level it was at before the jump last Friday?
On a different note Mr |T----the frut and veggies in the garden dont seem to be doing well this year :-(
But the foxgloves and some of the wildflowers have taken , so the bees are fairly happy. Recently I took out a plum tree that has never done anything and put one I grew from stone in its place (wrong time of year but hopefully it will settle and produce some plums next year. Another dwarf plum tree is doing nothing but is recovering after producing a lot of fruit last year and breaking a branch). I took cuttings from the blackcurrents and Im hoping to have 10 bushes producing next year for the plum and blackcurrant jam. Im also planting some chives down near the blackcurrants, not for me but for the purple flowers for the bees.
So--a bit of luck in the garden and a bigger slice of luck with Centamin and I will be a fair bit happier myself.

Lets hope that this is the start of a few more buys by them and also the start of better times for Centamin and us LTH.

I know Egypt havent really put anything into Centamin but they get a cut of the profits. You would have thought they would have had an expert of their own who could have --and still could--go into Sukari and see what is / has been going on. For what it would have cost them, the would have got their small investment back many times over. Ok we might have had less gold mined previously but it would have been at a steadier rate and without the C-ap of cleaning up the mess the last lot left.
I suppose now legal action will have been taken as it would have caused an even bigger crash in share price that we have had , so the culprits got off free and with money in their pockets.
Times flies. it is coming up to 3 years since Sotolo predicted the share price was going up to £3 --------and we know what happened after that.
I try and stay positive. If the share price is around this price rather than 90-95p then we will get more share with our reinvested dividends. However, at some point we will need a bigger dividend and a higher share price to make it seem worthwhile.
Maybe it is me getting older and grumpier, but the share price always seems to go up between ex dividend date and the date the dividend is reinvested-------then it goes down. it also seems that with every bit of news that Centamin release , that the share price goes down. Maybe we need less news!

Re the food banks etc. Some people do not know how to cut back and economise, but there are people who do and have been doing it. If you are already buying basics in the cheaper places, how much more can you cut back? How much more can you turn the thermostat down? What if you leave the curtains open when it is sunny?
I really fear for a lot of people later on this year. Im fully expecting the announcement " dont worry about your fuel bills, keep warm and sort it out in the spring"
Bit political here Mr T --but after the Queens Jubilee, I dont think we have any Royals who can get married , which they always seem to do to "cheer up" the rest of us when times are hard.

Mr T--you have been here a long time and I assume that you are going to stick it out for the golden fip flops? No need for a disclaimer on your reply :-) ----------------How do you think things will go this year? Will basel 3 actually make a difference or will they ignore it or swerve around it?
Do you think that Martin Horgans plans will start to come together this year? I assume that progress must be getting made on that heap and it should get easier the more they shift. Then there are the alloy bodied trucks that were mentioned (Cowichan?) and the solar coming on line.
The trick is getting enough gold out of the ground at a cheap enough price (and I dont mean how it was done previously, that put us in this mess) to make a good profit. Obviously the price of gold comes into it. I was wondering if you think the recent dip in the price of gold is to enable the "stinkers" to buy physical to try and cover some of the paper they have been issuing for years? OR are America trying to make the dollar the thing everyone wants?

Im sitting here , fingers crossed, going to reinvest the dividend again --and hoping that within a few months gold will be moving up to where we would like it to be.

Different note here------Ive heard from a friend in South Wales that the foodbanks there have stopped taking vegetables as people will not cook them due to the increased fuel costs.
Without getting all political------------there is something bloody wrong if people cannot afford to heat their homes or cook food .

Just to say I agree with the previous 3 chaps. If anyone from Centamin is reading this you should be hanging your head in shame. Hopefully rather than tin can down the road kicking, a bit of a-se kicking will be the order of the day.

Im not much of a gardener. Ive never had a garden before I moved here. Yes it is a slog sometimes but gradually bits gets better or easier. Im trying to work smarter now and put carboard down to suppress weeds . At first I was clearing a patch of earth and then planting something. As I've cleared more patches I have been able to start to rotate a bit. Im still no good at it but I've grown garlic and peas for my Niece ( Trouble being I had to grow, harvest , shell , blanche and freeze the peas and separate the garlic cloves, peel them and freeze them-----------so that wasnt a smart move :-) ) .
I did have some spuds and sprouts out of the garden with my Christmas dinner---------and the home made wine :D .
Hopefully i;ll get better at growing stuff and hopefully Martin Horgan will sort out Centamin and re install a bigger dividend and the share price will go up.
