Yes it seems like good news. You wouldnt think Martin Horgan is the sort of man to drip information like this if there were bad news coming.
Hopefully a few more items of good news will be coming in Q3 and beyond.

Glut of courgettes Mr T. Done a few jars of gherkins as well. Advice to start stripping leaves off the tomatoes so they will ripen. Trying for more blackcurrant cuttings (HAVE you seen the price of jam?!!!!!!). Some sunflowers have popped their heads out and the bees are starting to enjoy them. Some plums frozen for jam making on the fire later in the year.
I've made a couple of batches of Plum wine , mainly for friends, and the apple wine season is almost upon us.
I am nowhere near self sufficient but getting a little better each year.
Life would be much easier for me if Centamin get cracking and start paying fat dividends.

I think this winter might be hard ------and little bits can help.

I think a lot of people appreciate the front line NHS, but dont like the trusts running it. An over simplified example is cutting staff to save money then paying themselves more for having done it.
I agree with a lot of Mr T's politics but not him airing them on here. I have said a few times that he should wind his neck in a bit. I hope that Mr T does just that but continues to post on here.
You can argue that more of less anything is related to the price of gold and thus Centamin.
The war in the Ukraine, Brexit and raising fuel prices I wont argue with except to say---not on here.

Sotolo --did you not think to start getting the house built years ago? With your holding the Divi should have helped getting it started.
Someone has bought the woods at the back of me, which are mainly hill and for which he would not be able to get planning permission. But as all he wants it a bit of quite at the weekends, he is building a sort of cabin. Its not bad so far. He put in brick and concrete plinths and is building on top of those. He got some double glazing units off the bay and is building (in new money) an 8metre by 4 metres cabin. its cost him about £3,000.
Anyhow--If I were in your position, and had your sort of money I would be building a pretty decent cabin/chalet to live in in the mean time and once your mansion is built (Ive got my fingers crossed for the £3 a share in the not too distant future), you can keep it as a chalet/ summer house. Im guessing as it would be mainly wood it would be classed as a tempory structure and easier to get planning permisson for. Or you could get a couple of old static caravans ? :-) His and hers?
I hope you get to build your mansion before you get too old------------Mr T gets his gold flip flops---and I can afford gold toe capped boots for the garden.

The day traders seem to make good calls but then lose out in a biggish rise. Making Hay used to be like that. I think we are about 1.5 times higher than when he got out many years ago and that is not taking the divis into account.
Quite irate Tiger claims to have been calling it right until recently and will no doubt claim he has made more elsewhere than he has lost in the recent rise here.
I was looking at one of the dividend sites recently and they were proclaiming that they are right 44%of the time. isnt that worng 56% of the time then? Monkey Darts anyone?

Aye Mr T--------I remeber seeing a program a bit after the banking crash of 2008-----------and all the bankers were still in banking and the excuse was " We need people who have experience of this" and not "Lets throw the useless b-oody g-ts" in jail.

Im sure Martin Horgan knows a lot more about mining than I do Mr T--------but I totally get what you are on about sorting out Sukari rather than looking elsewhere. We could get lucky and get another mine working elsewhere, but I think with the size of Sukari--the full 160 km and not the 3km, there is hell of a lot to go at there.

Im hoping that things do start improving soon and a bigger divi is reinstated. Obviously if the POG starts going up, this would help increase profits.
I still struggle to comprehend how POG has not started to climb sharply, given the current state of the country, economic forecasts and inflation.

Thanks Sotolo-------Im at the age where i sometimes doubt my memory. It is actually usually very good except when I go in the garden and spend more time looking for my gloves or trowel than I do actually gardening!
I think with being here so long, things tend to go round and maybe even forgotten about. I remember there was a Joseph and a Josef at Centamin and one was supposed to be an honourable man. Ive not a clue who was who!

I know Centamin has had a bl--dy big fall from its peak and even in the last year or so.
I think there was t4g who was moaning about the share price about 9 months ago and went into Boo hoo at £1.05.

Im down on my investment in Centamin but with the divis over the years probably in front if that make sense? I've reinvested the divis and due the the divis and low share price have increased my holding a bit--- but it is still only a tiny fraction of yours.

I suppose sometimes its about perception. The share price is where it was in April and we have the confirmation of a poor dividend, high costs and low profit margins.
However, I think that the way Martin Horgan has been playing it should stand us in good stead in future (hopefully not too distant). He has gone about things in a solid manner and not over promised. I think the market is beginnning to warm to this after years of lost trust in Centamin management
He could probably have found some way of upping the profits and profit margins in the short term, by high grading, but I think he is really building solid foundations now.
In cricketing terms (Test Match of course :-)) , a cameo innings of 35 or 40 might be entertaining, but you are more likely to win if one of your batsmen posts a Big Hundred. Im hoping he has a few fresh pairs of batting gloves in his bag.

Bit of a glut of Courgettes here , and been freezing some. Also stoned and frozen some plums for jam making later in the year -------oh and got a few blackcurrants to throw in too.

SotoIo thought you reduced your holding here to go into Hoc and THS?? I seem to remember you using you Centamin Divi to buy those? Also didnt you buy some more here in the low 90's around March/ April. I may be confusing you with someone like MaryBri on that score.
Im hoping gold will hold these levels if not actually start climbing. But with talk of 13% inflation, surely we must be due a rise.
Watching this board for a good few years, I notice that predictions of gold, share prices etc, rising / falling are only right about half of the time.
Gold to hit $3000 some were saying earlier in the year. Yourself , pre wall fiasco, predicting £3 a share! ( i wish you were right on that one) ------Quite Irate Tiger predicting 60p a share.

Test match rate--------but the new ball has been seen off and the bowlers are flagging. Im hoping its going to be a bit like THAT Ben Stokes innnings against the Aussies but without the fingernail biting.
Im not happy with the low divi, but if things start to line up, with getting the power to the site, clearing the mess, the light bodied trucks and a few bonanza grades then hopefully the divis will start to climb to acceptable levels.

It makes a change that we havent been hammered after an update. Even though the divi announcement wasnt great (but it was expected), the market seems to be happy about something.
Maybe with gold starting to climb and interest rates going up, sentiment is starting to change?

I think a light one--------as i think the previous Centamin management tried the heavy one to flatten out the waste and that didnt go very well!
Its still tricky but maybe Martin Horgan is starting to see the ball like a beach ball.

I think its a bit like losing the toss in cricket and being put into bat on a tricky pitch. Know where your off stump is and dont play at anything you dont have too. Go into lunch without losing a wicket and you have had a decent morning and things should get better inn the afternoon session.

Hopefully one of the mining bods on here will be along to explain the drilling results. I think Gnome previously said they were really good?
Also--do they think that Martin Horgan knew what he was letting himself in for with Centamin. I think he must have had a good idea and saw the potential after clearing up the previous lots mess. He doesnt seem the sort who would bother with a lost cause even for a good financial package.
I think (HOPE!) the news will get better and I can see either an increased next dividend or a small special dividend to reflect this.
At lease the share price hasnt taken a knock with these results.

Id be interested to see what Gnome, Cowichan and Mr T think of this later on after the call.

Lets hope for good news. Its been a long, hard time since we were up in the £2.s and seemingly flying. We know about the wall etc and some stuff that seems suspect, but hopefully Martin Horgan is doing things right now and we should start to see things getting better.
It would be nice to see double figure (in pence) dividends before too long.

Yes Mr T. It would be nice if things started to improve more now. Maybe one of the mining bods on here will be able to give us an idea of what or if Martin Horgan knew what he was taking on? I think he will probably have been aware and keen to turn things around. If he was aware of what he was taking on, then that should be good for us as he does not seem the sort who would waste his time (even for a lot of money) on a poor project.
With the solar coming on line, the alloy bodied trucks and (fingers crossed) a few bonanza grades , things should start to look up.

He will have read the signs and got in at 79.4 and out at 82.5 :-)
