More than one producer of the SMT will be required if it is to have mass adoption.

No major company relies on one supplier...therefore licence agreements coming...imo.

There was a query raised on linkedin about the possibility of funds being needed.

Cap-xx replied "wait for results".

Seem a bit strange...what they going to tell us?

Will the results give any reference to the Tesla

settlement....

I'm thinking the SMT is mass adoption territory...but companies are not going to reinvent their products to accept this new tech.....with just the one supplier.

So much hype but delivers very little in terms of sales.

A lot of investors have been bitten badly and have long memories. So much promised...

The SMT and new binding are potentially big news...

But is it hype or will they infact deliver this time?

Can't blame folk for bailing when there's no substance as yet to back up there claims..

There’s a common dilemma for many advanced manufacturing companies that own manufacturing assets that are depreciated but still represent significant operational value to the company. My speculation is around what it would cost a competitor to build an equivalent plant. Allenby’s note in Nov 2019 stated “Murata has invested more than US$100m in these supercapacitor manufacturing operations to date and CAP-XX estimates the replacement cost of the third-generation manufacturing lines at A$50m to A$100m.” So $20m (A$30m) seems like a reasonable (perhaps low end) estimate of the barrier to entry for a competitor. Apologies, my comment could have been better worded, hope this helps....

Lars and Alex, who received his PhD in Chemistry from Sydney University, made time to meet with professors from both universities who are experts in battery science. According to Cap-xx in Allenbys Nov 2019 research note, it would cost A$50-A$100 m to replicate the production lines they aquired from Murata.

Today's announcement probably covers additions, prismatic etc.

It says ...We have cracked SMT after our disappointment on the last attempt and I presume failure.

Mass production is coming....and that means licence agreements...

Been held back a month likely so they can release news which will be after 29th Sept but before 29th Oct so it can be incorporated into the results..

Of course their maybe other more minor news prior to the major announcement.
