ENRC has extensive mining interests in Kazakhstan but its website shows no connection with FML Also, the FML site contains no reference to ENRC. As ENRC is being investigated for internal corruption, I would have thought that this has little impact on FML.
The RNS of 23 April told us nothing about how much copper is likely to be produced this year, so we are left to guessing it. With present capacity stated to be 25 tons per day, this would give us 9125 tons on a 365 day basis. Allowing for a 5-month winter shut-down reduces this to 5000+ tons for 2013/14. Any advance on 5000?
According to Moneyweek, the price of copper is set to fall sharply from its present level of around $7450 a ton. Does anyone know what FML's present production cost per ton is or is it too early to say?
Could be due to many, many reasons but the main one is that share prices are set by market-makers who have access to a whole range of information which could affect a share price and which is not known to private investors. Also, although the volume of shares bought may be "fair", it probably isn't enough to increase the price.
Last year the annual report was issued on 12 Decembber 2011 and usually a production statement is issued before this and could be issued this month.
I am sure that, ultimately, VGM will come good and will reward long-term holders. I have recently opened a long CFD position at 37p and I am hoping that the next annual results will push the sp forward a bit.
You cheer me up and I suppose that your optomistic outlook is right, but like many others I have been waiting years for this share to perform but always, always there is delay. But, one day perhaps.............??
I thought that the RNS was good and encouraging, but look - the sp is now down 5%! Is this the market saying " We are not impressed?" - or wot?
Proactive Investors have announced a presentation by FML directors at 6 p.m., on 12 September at the Chesterfield Mayfield Hotel, Mayfair, London
Thanks for your reply. I was not attacking your post - merely expressing a point of view. I have been holding this share for a long time and like you, I continue to watch with interest . My average sp is 3.6p, so any offer above 10p would be most welcome.
Your suggested indicative sale price of $500m is equivalent to 33p a share which, I think, is a bit on the high side. However, a deal at $200m would equal 13p a share which would be welcome.
June.
Erlan's speech in London on 31 May should indeed be interesting as it should include an update on his statement of 6 March 2012 when he said that FML is targetting an eight-fold increase in its market capitalization to $1 billion by 2014. He also said that FML is seeking to become the second-biggest copper producer in Kazakhstan after Kazakhmys plc.
Me too!! Bought ACU originally in 2009 at around 84p per share - following a "recommendation" by a friend (fatal) - but now my average is just over 4p. I am now fairly optimistic that in due course I'll get my original stake back.
