The special dividend of 6p per share is due to be paid today - has anyone received it?
Webstar - many thanks.
The Board has announced that a consolidation based on 12 shares for 13 wef 14 October 2019.
This could result in the loss of about one twelfth of the value of holdings and I wonder if the Board plans to compensate shareholders for this loss?.
rocker1 - what makes you think that the court case is going the wrong way? Do you have any evidence for this or is it purely your own, unsubstantiated opinion to try to drive the sp down to a level you want to buy at? You really must try harder.
I am much more interested in what the sp is likely to be in 5 months, let alone 5 years and I suspect many holders will feel the same. Trying to fix a future sp is all guesswork - at this stage assuming that the ph3 are successful, no one knows what offers are likely to be made nor who will make them. However, if there is a good ph3 outcome, then an sp of around £1 at the end of the year, rising to perhaps £1.35 could be a reasonable expectation.
I think the drop is entirely due to Brexit. The chairman of the Association of British Insurers (ABI), Mr.Huw Evans, recently said that if we leave the EU without a deal, we will adopt WTO rules which do not guarantee market access for service industries like insurance. Mr. Evans, who has described a no-deal exit as " an unforgivable act of economic and social self-harm ", said that a no-deal exit would require insurance companies to raise additional capital which would reduce competitiveness and lead to lower returns for investors.
Insurance companies like DLG have traditionally paid generous dividends to shareholders but a no-deal exit would clearly put these at risk. This is one of many hidden disadvantages of leaving without a deal which our political leaders don't talk about.
Patience is needed with this one - nothing much will happen until the VAS court case is settled and the conflict in Eastern Ukraine is ended. There are hopes that peace talks may be held shortly. Once these issues are dealt with I am sure that RPT will stop being boring.
Also, have a look at the press release dated 21 June 2019 about the increase in a major shareholding.
Very difficult to understand why the sp should fall to 25p. This is a company with $67.9 million in the bank -which is no small sum. Also, in the recent half-year report on 5 July, the CEO, Mr. Glazunov, said that " the Company is well positioned for further growth both from organic development of existing fields and potential acquisitions of new prospects." Surely this means that the company is set to grow and that the sp should reflect this. I realise that the VAS field court case is still outstanding and perhaps this is a drag on the sp - but surely a 20% drop to 25p is not on the cards?
