I was referring to the RNS published yesterday on this board about the closure of Helam Mining which has been on a care and maintenance basis since 2015. My initial reaction to the RNS was that it would have an adverse effect on the sp, but on re-reading it, I now think that the closure will benefit the company. Have a look at the RNS yourself.

Mauler - RNS stands for Regulatory News Service which is operated by the Stock Exchange and if you buy and sell shares, you really ought to know about this. At this price, I think PDL is a good buy on a 6 month view

You have to learn, Pugsy, that share prices are fixed by market makers who operate in a market and they will be aware of share price action which may not be available to the general public. Also, share prices go up and down and right now we are in a bear market which means that shares will go down rather than up. Also, insurance sps are always subject to claims arising from bad weather conditions.

I agree, Ukraine is at fault here but the dispute gives us a good opportunity to buy cheap. So buy now - this share will be around £1 within 12 months.

For those like me, waiting to top up, the question is " when to buy?"

There were buys on Friday at 10.92p, 11.888p and 11.925p whilst today I have seen two buys at 11.55p - not much of a trend there. On the 1 hour chart, the 20EMA line is still below the 50EMA line which is indicating a sell or a hold - so take your pick. I am thinking a placing a buy order at 11p..

Beamer21 - I am one who doesn't understand how a single trade can have such a massive effect on an sp. Presumably this is allowed by the London Stock Exchange and, if so, again I don't understand why they allow it.

Trading unpleasant remarks on this board does not help any of us who are interested in the successful outcome of ZIOC and individual thoughts, suspicions, ideas and early morning convictions, should, I think, be ignored in favour of the facts as they become known. One fact which is widely accepted is that corruption in Africa is widespread.and the IMF has already stated that it needs reassurance from the ROC government that corruption within its ranks is being dealt with. To the best of my lnowledge, the IMF has not yet received this reassurance..

Rhodi - I don't know what LO's average sp is, but rather than shorting out now, would it not be more profitable for them tp wait until the sp rises to a decent level and then sell?

My goodness, £21.26 per share! I wonder what Sooty, who 2 days ago described an sp of £11.95 as hysterical, would say about this?

£11.95 per share would be very nice but I suspect that we will have to wait quite a long time before that happens. Personally, I would be happy with £5.95 per share, next week!

daringinvestor - your remarks are very encouraging and I am trying hard to share your optimism. But the sp is now well and truly into single figures with lots of sales and little sign of the return of large buyers. My paper loss is substantial, in common, I suspect, with other holders. A message from Mr. Barder on progress might help..

Also, I have just seen a buy recommendation by Deutche Bank issued on 9 0ctober with a target price of 390p.

Pugsy - you could be right but I think the fall is more likly to be due to the hurricanes and cyclones we have had this year which are likely to give rise to a mass of insurance claims. This will impact on profitabilty and possibly next year's dividend. Also, DLG is a FTSE100 share and there has been a big fall in the index. I think support for DLG is around 314p so perhaps we will start to see a gradual recovery.
As to who you should contact, it might be worth checking the shorters!
