my understanding is that this virus will mutate more in Winter due to people being indoors more! so how does lockdown help? shutting down schools; economies etc again would be far worse for everyone! what happened to those Nightingale hospitals that millions of our cash were spent on? this whole thing has been so badly handled by government!

yep, sounds about right to me based on rough calcs. a buy in lower than 120 would probably be a good entry point. wait & see i suppose!

i'll agree with you on that Noggers, if there is another lockdown, this share will take a clobber again. I can't see it happening though!

Portland, i beg to differ. When i was invested (quite heavily) in this, the stock was manipulated like crazy & was being shorted like mad on some days. It is what it is & while it's annoying i've come to realise that you can use shorters to your advantage (i.e get em cheap-i did so to get the £1.59ers). This share has been propped up to keep the RI on course in my view. I may be wrong here as i still have belief that long term IAG is a good investment but i'm ultra cautious having bough at £2.40 & watch it drop almost daily. Seems to me that anyone taking their rights up will sit on a loss if the TERP goes below 130. Part of the reason i got out was because aside from the risk, the RI involved such a huge injection of funds which i felt could be invested better elsewhere at this time!

i was i n on IAG for 2 months from June-August. Originally bought at 240 & averaged down right till they reached 159. Eventually got out of this nightmare at a breakeven of 215. Been following this RI stuff with some intrigue though & was trying to calculate was it worth buying a few yesterday as at first glance it looked like a real no brainer. The more i looked at it though it's surely going to be a loss maker unless they trade TERP @130+. I expect the TERP will probably fall dramatically as the IIs who underwrote this will sell their shares on (pump & dump) GLA but i'll wait & see how they look next week!

If anyone is spooked or panicked by a share moving from 119.90-117.70 in a weeks trading when the markets are turbulent, they need to ask if this shares stuff is the right gig for them to be in!

i totally agree Lewis. If they ease lockdowns then infections will rise. Hey i'm no scientist but i thought the general idea was that a rise in cases was OK if deaths are relatively low & the hospitals are not overwhelmed. The whole thing is knee jerk stuff from a totally incompetent government which i believe noone is interested in listening to anyway. They just have no clue & none of the messages are clear & they can't/won't enforce anything they say. If a vaccine is found then great but i work on the basis they may never be one & people just have to adapt. Economies need to function. Ending of the furlough scheme i believe will see a huge rise in unemployment in this country. The scheme was way too generous anyway & people have had long free holidays at taxpayers expense. The country needs a reality check & end of October that will come!

talk of 2nd national lockdown is all nonsense. Let's be honest here, noone listens or takes heed of any of the nonsense this government is coming out with anymore! none of these things it says are ever being enforced at all as i see it. all wishy washy BS!

these last couple weeks price movements are based on nothing except lack of a CEO. there is no other news. when there is a trading update on 22/10, & a return to operating profits, the share will be a lot higher i'm certain of this. This company has coaches running all over the place. i see them daily on the motorway!

share dips a few pence & this bb is awash with supermarket sandwiches past their sell buy date derampers.

It won't be a vaccine that will prompt recovery in the short term, it will be cheap, rapid, mass produced antigen tests and faster PCR readouts. Within six weeks reliable testing will be the talk of the planet, telling you immediately whether or not you have Covid. That is why schools, pubs and factories and offices will be able to reopen with some semblance of norm and THAT is why transport and leisure companies are such a good buy now. It's not about 'now'.

Cheng, i'm a bit curious @ what level would you actually buy these shares at if at all?

& a whole tranche of shares are trading at or near 52 week lows. Expect a market bounce next week. Usually seems to happen that way!

a week of 115-120 indicates this is surely the bottom now so for me just adding on now & awaiting the rise on any announcement. easy money this will prove to be in a few weeks from now!

you've all seen how this can move, Any RNS this is back to 140-150 minimum!

Can sense the agitated 'i wanna 20% & out brigade' getting itchy feet here with Cineworld & other stuff dropping & tempting. No news so no rise simple as. But importantly no fall either during a doom & gloom time! Patience, patience, the RNSs will arrive soon!

risky using stop/losses on this type of share. too volatile. i'd only use one here as a profit lock in!

this held up well today. Peeps need to realise at the moment, markets are rubbish. Lots of shares at very low prices: Barclays; Lloyds, RBS, BP, Taylor Wimpey,Rolls Royce etc etc. Time to just wait for turmoil to settle, chill for at least a few weeks & not look at intraday pricing unless looking to add extras!
