DC....I challenge anyone to know where this Market or indeed AV.s Sp will go next week given we are now being driven by sentiment of panic & greed. Fundamentals & normality have temporarily evaporated and will likely not return for a good few weeks. If you are a day trader, good luck ...I don’t have the time or inclination to study a screen all day but as a long term bet I’m with RBC on this one. Bought heavily in yesterday with a 3 yr horizon. Unfortunately existing shareholders may have an equally long wait to recover recent losses. I’m not expecting a Div. this year and yes this could fall further but not worried about short term movements. Anyway good luck ...we all need it !

Surprised this bounced over 25% today when it was pretty obvious what was coming. Closure with a review in a months time is not helpful, shame as was a great business, hope it can recover.

RBC initially stated Top Pick in 2018 when the SP was a lot higher, a lots happened since then, but nice of them to reiterate their confidence. Hopefully this time they’re more accurate .

Its not the General Insurance sector of their business thats the concern....if anything that could be improving due to reduced activities !

Well I’ve been a buyer today and will continue to add further but won’t trade these as fully expect they will be materially higher in 3 years. With High Streets closed, online will benefit.

You’d think these Investment Banks would delay any forecasts until a clearer picture emerges, as frankly they look rather silly at the moment. Contrary to JPM, Goldmans believe the S&P500 will bottom at 2000( currently 2400) but end the year at 3200 ! . And to think these guys get paid handsomely for such so called advice , thankfully they don’t control my portfolio.

Yes, and for balance they could have mentioned that the mortality rate is much lower than though given their suggested infection numbers, but lets not waste a good panic.

Can’t see the Divi being maintained. With Government bond yields now down again, which Av. partly rely upon to pay pension agreements , this is not a healthy position for them. The downwards drift in the SP is telling.

Any increase in insurance claims from CV-19 should be counter balanced by the general reduced commercial/ personal activities throwing up fewer claims. Market is probably more concerned with its reducing
Solvency cover ratio currently 175%, down from 206% at Dec ‘19. That coupled with the current leadership will probably ensure most will keep this on there watch list , certainly until the next half year results. For me there are better recovery opportunities elsewhere.

Unless they don’t use the C-19 impact as an excuse to ‘re-align’ the divi !

Hi Tom, yes you wont be the only one buying on the way down although this is not a recommended strategy for day traders !

Agree, and whilst everyone has a personal responsibility to take sensible precautions against this virus, the level of media hysteria is a sad reflection on the protected lives many in the Western world live. Yes its sad to hear about the death of an elderly patient but this doesn’t justify relegating, for example, the desperate plight of thousands of Syrians, to the back pages.
