RE: Averaging down etc.15 Jan 2022 17:58
this is the difference between investing and gambling/speculating.
You need to do your research before you buy into any company so you understand what the benefits and dangers are.
If you buy just becasue the price has gone down, what's to stop you losing it all or else selling at a big loss if it drops another 10-20%+?
If you understand the company then you can look again and decide if somethign fundamental has changed, if not then you should want it to drop because if you liked Boo at say £2 you should love it at £1.10!
If you don't understand this company though or any other company you buy then I'm afraid you should not be buying individual stocks, this isn't being rude just stick with index funds and you will do well over a long period. individual stock investing is not for everyone and lots of people just buy because it's cheap, or worse just because it's jumping with no idea of the underlying company. You may make some money this way but in long run you will lose more
