Ferrexpo don't use arc furnaces, those are used by steel makers who are the customers of Ferrexpo and whom we sell our Iron to.

Though the beneit of our high grade iron pellets is that those customers need less coke for the steel making process.

Nuclear does count for a lot of Ferrexpo power, about 50%, as the company get most of their electricity from the grid so nulear, gas, hydro and some coal in declining order.

They've also built thir own pilot solar plant to make them more self-sufficinet and not as reliant on the nation's national grid. This is only 1-2% of their toal energy currently but not the inital plant has shown to work they are expanding and the plan (mid-long term) is that the majority of their energy will come from their own solar plants.

There's a lot of people on here who seem to jump every time the boy cries wolf.

I get that many are hugely down, I'm down big myself though only on a small holding I can afford to go to zero (though will still be annoyed) but the stock is still below where it was only 2 weeks ago so I don't think the market is expecting much from this except maybe a quick gain if this goes back up near 60 before the 'deal' is turned down.

Stocks just go up brah

The way to look at this stock is it's the opposite of the TACO trade.

Most stock tank when Trump says something only to rally when he backtracks.

This stock jumps on the rubbish he sprouts only to crash down when reality pours cold water over his words.

TBF on the Tomahawks, I wonder how much is just a buzzword and how many people know what they actually are.

It's a naval based weapon (and Ukraine don't have ships that can fire it) and whilst it can be fired by land, even the US only have a few launchers able to do so (allegedly 2 but probably a few more) so it was always very unlikely they would give Ukraine the missile when they can't fire it.

It's much more likely 6-12 months from now France ramp up their MdCN land capability, then Ukraine will have the same ability as they would with the Tomahawk but without Trump protecting his mate Putin.

20:20 hindsight is easy but seems de Gaulle's decision after WW2 for France to create it's own independent military capabilities because "There may be a time when America is not Europe's friend" is looking a very wise decision these days.

You can tell how scared Putin is by the amount bitter lemon is on today.

For a country that pretends to still have a relevant military, the panic about giving Ukraine access to the adult weapons rather than the kids one's they've fought Russia to a stand still with the last few years speaks volumes.

I've been disappointed with how little change Labour seem to have done since coming in but then we're in a world of on demand streaming, instant messaging and 24 hour news so maybe we've forgotten Rome wasn't built in a day.

If this time next year things don't feel like they are improving I'll more inclined to call the government a bust but we've been desperate for change the last 15 years so lets not jump up and down because things haven't been fixed in less than 15 months.

Donald Trump has just signalled what appears to be a major shift in his position on the Ukraine war - and what might happen if and when the fighting ends.

Posting on his Truth Social platform, he says: "I think Ukraine, with the support of the European Union, is in a position to fight and WIN all of Ukraine back in its original form."

Inflation is caused by the decision to add costs of trade with the EU through Brexit and Sunak's decision as chancellor not to inflation proof the covid debt he took out.

Interest rates have very little to do with this kind of inflation, the reason gov borrowing costs are high are because the BoE only have interest rates to effect the economy and the current inflation is nothing to do with a hot economy but they think they have to look to be doing something, and that the BoE are purposefully selling gilts into the market that they don't need to, reducing demand and so pushing up borrowing for the gov.

This is the downside of an independent central bank, no accountability when they make bad decisions for the country.

Companies and the richest should be made to pay more rather than go after the normal worker which I think this gov are trying to do with the NI rise but they haven't done it properly because all politics now especially the 'man of the people' like Farage and Trump are funded heavily by the rich and businesses so whoever gets in doesn't want to upset them
