Trump thinks giving the other side all they want for a quick decision is a good deal, just ask the Taliban.

I doubt US will walk away, you hear about how they've spent billions supporting Ukraine but the majority is just old stockpiles that would have been scrapped anyway.

The quicker these stockpiles can worked through the more money that will go to the arms companies for new weapons which is good for US economy and jobs.

For Ferrexpo I'm not sure having Russia on the border of our mining region is a great risk and reward play given Putin's desire to destabalise regions such as southeast Ukraine before the invasion, Georgia and Moldova so how long after any Trump capitulation before he starts to mess with Poltava and the surrounding areas?

The company has a tangible asset value of around £10 so anything close or under that is a steal.

Disagree completely, we are in an environment where interest rates, and therefore mortgage rates, are coming down, so more people can afford more house meaning value of inventory per house will rise the government (like all this century) are claiming to want to increase number of houses built and this will almost completely be done by home builders.

More gov schemes will come out to 'help' first time buyers.

I think the last couple years have been just the time to accumulate house builder shares as I've been doing with Persimmon and redoing here after selling out when the price was similar to the take over price.

No real reason why house builders can't get back towards pre-covid or even 2021 levels.

I doubt we'll go back soon to near 0% rates but now people have got used to 5% rates over the last year and half, as rates drop towards 2.5-2% it will have similar affect as each drop brings more people into buying a home and no chance enough houses will be built year on year to accommodate them

Just because you don't see a dividend cheque in your account doesn't mean this isn't beneficial to shareholders, you'll literally own an extra 4%ish of the company without doing anything.

I can't see any way Labour would allow BT to be taken over given it's position in national infrastructure. I'm not sure the Tories would have either despite their reluctance to be drawn on the subject. Likely why there was no take over offers at 100p a share back in March/April time.

If you think they are getting a great deal you are better off selling Crest once an offer is accepted and buying Bellway shares directly.

There seems a common misunderstanding, especially from the right leaning populous, that actual money is being sent to Ukraine.

When the US, UK, EU etc send x billions of support they are sending actual equipment, old equipment, to Ukraine from their stockpiles.

This then needs to be replenished meaning more work and indeed jobs so by funding Ukraine these countries are actually supporting their own defense companies which you'd think the right wing would be supportive of.

Regards the election imo if Biden gets replaced by Harris or anyone else the Dems win the election, also if Trump got replaced by anyone else the reps would certainly win too.

I expect though, as politicians seem to almost always put their party above what's best for the country we will get a Biden Trump election which seems like a toss up at the moment.

If we buy a $7b asset then we've paid $7b for it so unless the asset is seen to be worth more in the future the 'value' of Glencore won't change, we just traded one asset ( money/shares/etc) for another (Coal).

Could then be good to buy the inevitable dip if Labour's push for more housing comes to pass, which apparently they will start putting in place in the first couple weeks or office.
