Simple question when it comes to patents. Loxus claim their technology is patented. When this patent was in the process of being granted do they not compare the application with existing patents and would CPX have had the ability to challenge the application ?

Gentlemen be as disrespectful as you like but just answer the question and that is "Is loxus about to settle yes or no". I don't know and I don't know how to find out. As you say I am just and old fool trying to get a question answered. PS And I am sure your mothers still love you ...

For someone who could not get into our team because he made too many mistakes £12/13m is terrific business. Bournemouth are buying unproven potential and like all Premier League teams they have too much money so pay over the odds. Remember we also got £15m for Kodja. For me HL's founder is on a par with Levy for trading nounce.

Thank you Jeffrey for sharing your obviously expert knowledge with us. Its a pity you cannot do it a bit more graciously. It may well be that the other case went through the same process but are you categorically saying that this is just a prior step to agreeing to settle ? If not then even you are just speculating.

So what happened to the claim that loxus would cave in?

A recent link posted by IWGROD suggested that CPX held 26 patents whereas the recent posting by Tony P link indicates 46. I must confess that I am totally confused. Still that doesn't matter as all I am interested in is how much net revenue they generate .

OK Jeffrey if you have all the knowledge please explain why the market has taken CPX from the mid teens to below 4 pence. I have always said speculation means nothing "shows us the money" . I am confident that my assessment no matter how ill informed has proven to be right . I just hope the latest "don't worry we are just about to hit the big time " theory is not yet another false dawn. Claret, Don't really care what you think, the bottom line is that royalties after what 10 years are just about paying for the salaries of a few engineers. Real money (perhaps £2-£3m) was however made from AVX fees yet subsequent licence deals make no mention of such fees being paid . All we get told is the total figure and all I have said is that as yet it is not really significant

Dear All. I know full well what patents do and the principles behind them. What I am saying is that so far they may well afford a certain protection but they aint producing much money. I am moreso interested in what drives us to profit (which will affect the SP) and IMHO increasing direct sales will do this more so. We have had so many false dawns it is sometimes difficult to truly understand the likely catalyst/contributors to becoming profitable

It does appear that the vast majority of these patents were registered over 5 years ago and yet we only have a few licensees, doesn't seem much of a return. Anyone have idea of which ones are being licensed by whom and which ones were the subject of recent cases

PC01 I guess it all depends on what the correct strategy is on the road to profit. Royalty income is relatively cost free and in some ways is money for nothing. But one has to balance it against the costs of maintaining the IP and associated costs. When it starts to generate a greater share of total income/profit I will be more convinced of its worth. I would interested to know how many patents we have and how many are actually licensed. In the meantime, the balance sheet shows the necessity (on the road to profit) for more direct sales and the reality is that even now they generate more income than royalties. I too await the promised explosion in income from either channel but think the latter is more likely to generate short term income and is hence the priority.

Surprised just making valid observations . You seem to forget this income stream generated what £300k in last accounts and probably less in 18/19, so while its welcome it will not alone drive up the SP at any great rates of knots. Direct sales will generate the money needed to get us into profit

Without knowing all the technical details how can you assume that Loxus will similarly settle?. Surely every case is different? And what evidence is there that Maxwell are contravening our patents? I am not saying you are wrong but I think its unwise to make such wild predictions. Agreed to date we have had two new licensees accede but I remember being widely criticised that counterfeiting was a real problem and being told I was talking rubbish. I would sooner see good news about own product sales rather that hear about endless IP cases which bring much uncertainty

This win must be seen in perspective as royalties currently only represent about a fifth of total revenue. The important thing is to increase CPXs own direct sales and I guess we have to wait patiently news about any orders in this direction. If positive news comes in the next couple of months I trust this will climb into the teens again. Forever cautious.

Well that's one down one to go. I note there are no details of the settlement but we must assume some "profit" from the exercise. But a good marker as to the strength of our IP, Cant be anything other than good news

If a troll encourages debate then I see nothing wrong with being a troll. Clearly CPXs finances are on a knife edge (or at least of concern) and I think it entirely appropriate to try and understand what's involved.

PC01 when you say "further grow manufacturing capability" what would this involve and what is a reasonable lead in time? Presumably if you want premises they have to be in the right place whereas if you want hardware well its got to be available. So what would CPX be looking for and is it readily available ? It must be a diffciult balancing act ie 3v has been "on trial" for some time but they shouldn't spend without orders?

And still the rampers refuse to comment on a perfectly reasonable question. None so blind.... Incidentally where does it say that IIs are immune from getting it wrong or losing their money?
