Roundtable Discussion; The Future of Mineral Sands. Watch the video here.
Well guys what in retrospect is your judgement as to how well AK led the company over the years . Still as the man says never gamble more than you can afford to lose . Personally I wish I had never heard of CPX. It will now be a long road for many to get any of their money back . The only question now is are the margins there to make CPX a viable business
New broom sweeps clean . We have little choice but to trust in Lars. Lets hope he succeeds
I presume this figures are turnover not profit . I see profit as a long way off . One thing is for sure though getting rid of AK costs us a bomb as did the licensing fiasco . I wonder where the buck stops for that
Could someone please summarise CPXs annual needs as talk of $1/2m USD sales seems peanuts to me . What is their annual wage bill less Aussie government their grant and how much sales at a margin of 15% ?? do they need to break even (let alone make a profit) . It seems to me that historically licence revenue was a bonus but I assume that is now all gone ?
And what good would that do ? Ultimately CPX lodged invalid IP and the buck has to stop somewhere. Perhaps that is what is behind recent BOD changes ? Who knows time to move on . But I suggest it is now truly sink or swim time . So its now sell or fail
What is needed is someone who can meet the customers agreed needs in terms of price and delivery times in the most efficient way . That needs an understanding of the whole manufacturing process pitfalls and all. Lets hope Lars is that person . I don't know the set up of the board but is there a direct report responsible for this aspect?
It seems to me that CPX is a very small company (with 20 odd employees) who attempted to be both a "world class" licensing and manufacturing company . At the moment it seems the licensing side is a dead duck (and that isn't down to bad luck) and we must now attempt to learn how to manufacture products which is whole different ball game. The question is do the margins exist to make this strategy a profitable way forward . Murata didn't think so why are we any different. I guess only Lars and co knows whether success is ultimately possible
Oh I am still here . Just cant see any way out of the big hole I am in . This will take a miracle and that wont happen any time soon from what I can see . We have no choice but to trust in Lars as we are on the ropes now and any further disruption will only erode market confidence even further
Except me of course Wobble
Wobble what is your evidence that Lars is in cahoots with Musk? It seems to me that Maxwell were one step ahead of us in the recent dispute so much so they needed no inside man . The position is as I see it that AK wasn't up to the management side of the business and was ousted by those in the know for a better qualified leader. Whether that turns out to be the right decision remains to be seen. But absolutely nothing to do with Musk I suggest.
Only the BOD know how CPX is truly performing and whether it is a viable business . Until then we only have perceptions as to the relative worth of Lars and AK . To me AK was an engineer who know how to design and make things . Lars however seems to concentrate on actually selling our products which is of course is what actually generates profit
come what may the proof of the pudding is in the .......... cpxs record on handling its ip affairs is littered with with **** ups viz ioxus . avx and now maxwell. one "dispute" is understandable but three must surely down to the bods incompetence or naivety . i await their explanation of the latest incident . personally i would settle for a 5p takeover as at least i would get some of my money back !!
While it gives me no pleasure Wobble will you please have courtesy to say "have to hand it to you Open you called it right". What a mess . Lest hope we can survive
What can I say I urged caution but was continually rubbished as a troll with multiple accounts by the rampers. This whole Maxwell thing never felt right to me. But ultimately the buck must stop with the BOD. But don't worry chaps I have seemingly lost half of my life savings. The only question I have now is can we survive this disaster. Can the Phoenix rise from the ashes. A sad day
The bottom line is that this share has moved from 1.3 to 1.65 in a "transformational" week. What conclusions can you draw from that ?
This is surely winner takes all. You have two IIs seeking to reduce their 40 million holdings versus Wobble. Who knows what... who is right ? For once I have to say I hope its Wobble but as I have said before is it the end of the beginning or the beginning of the end? Come what may it will either be a very happy Christmas or a thoughtful one
Could someone explain to me why they would want to buy patents that have already expired ? I get it that they have transgressed historically but what applies once they have expired ?
This will the all sink or swim on AKs interpretation of "watertight IP". Lets hope we prevail as I dont have a clue of what weight can be attached to Maxwell's argument . I do recall , however, seeing a previous mention of prior art which I thought was thrown out
Thanks I love sushi for explaining the pertinent facts in words I can understand
How much does CPXs licensing stream generate ? Not a lot. Had historic problems with AVX Ioxus so not sure how well this IP thing has been managed in the past. So am I confidant re the Maxwell case? Don't have a clue but not long to go . Just need it to end
