Thanks for the commiserations on our aborted trip. Smokes seemed quite relieved to be home after all the cussing and growling and crunching of gears. Actually not much crunching. Its just developing new gear changes techniques and then next time it doesn't work until finally down to 2 gears! Topped up on SDI on weakness today, results in a couple of weeks so looks like usual mm games. More buys than sells and the sp goes down. Haven't really looked at volumes but guess brokers are eager to buzz off in their private jets to maybe a cruise liner floating out in the Atlantic somewhere.

Only got as far as Hastings. Managed to limp home in 2nd sometimes 3rd and fourth occasionally. Not having reverse is just a bit too challenging! Slightly less excited about about Anic now. They say their sea food cell meat won't be available till the end of the decade, but they will be trialling it in some countries next year. Sounds like a bit of a pullback to me. It will be a food revolution when it happens though and many other companies trying the same thing.

JLP was extremely dodgy but new team got on track and running from 2p unto 16p where they sold quite a lot understandably. It got the ST (investor chronicle) treatment this week which was the main driver and then the news was a bit flat. Was expecting 24p+ on news. Didn't happen. It's very news driven and now no news till July end. Think it will drift down now. Beg got bit of a bums rush after ours C. UT trade @ £1.17. No reason for it to fall back this far. I think the MMs are working overtime to fiddle prices with low volumes. Will be looking to catch the worm tomorrow. BIRD was one to follow with big director buys recently but shot up and I knew I should have bought into ANIC. BlueLanu (top holding) have signed a MOU with Mitsubishi and a Thailand Union to accelerate production of agri cell fish meat. Its thought the deal could worth the entire holdings of ANIC. I see it fell back a bit this evening. I was going to check it out this morning too. Just so much to investigate!

Always a tricky one sitting on a loss, or and averaging down. Its worked for me twice. With SWG I was faced with taking the loss or doubling up basically. It taken a year. Could I have made the money back quicker elsewhere or compounded the loss? Certainly hoping for profit now. I suppose its what you make of management who much of their own money is invested and are any institutions buying, So it was a positive on all 3 of those.
On the other hand decided to bail out of JLP. Sell on news. Should have had £300 profit .Too slow ended up with £35 loss. Clearly the market not as impressed with the news. Takes time to digest sometimes. Where one opportunity closes several more pop up! Added to CNIC again and opened new positions in previous favourite MWE, oversold I hope and a small Scottish company CLX floated late last year and already doubled since. Both major interest in 5g business and doing major contracts for the big boys.

The banks are all happy with the money they are making from closing branches and getting rid of staff and generally becoming more inefficient and useless than ever and handing over lots of dosh for rising fraud cases. Well its not really their money anyway so why do they care, they get it back of customers in other ways. I thinks called legal theft. No interest on savings but cards charging 20% interest on borrowing. Thats why they love and almost insist you have a credit card. I take one out on the rare occasion I need to hire a car, and then immediately close it again.

Domain seller amongst other ridiculous things, but looks like a potential anomaly candidate pe of 11 seems low for a tech stock. My largest holding now and longest held, SWG has just turned into profit (for me)after holding and adding to for over 1 year. My only cybersecurity stock now. Has been a bit of a ride but seem to be heading somewhere now. 8g loss now a few hundred profit. Hoping it will double in next 12 months. Really should have sold it last summer but lack of discipline thinking the market was wrong, maybe just short sighted!

There is no real financial health comparison of these companies. Cloudfare as you can see are very dominant in this market. AVST are more Think in the retail business of private computer health checks, VPN and malware detection. Its an enormous growth market clearly Darktrace are a force to be reckoned with but hard to get over the negative Lynch publicity. Is the IPO to partly to get his large investment sold possibly. More questions than answers I'm afraid

Morning all. N a bit of chat on AVST and its implications for AVST. Frankly I don't think there are any . Not sute they ar in direct competition but may investigate further. AVst is on a lowish valuation but then they have stated virtually no growth for this year. Darktrace have cut their IPO valuation again which sounds to much like ROO for comfort. I think the answer is there is too much doubt and for me that's uncomfortable. A flip of the coin punt

Always tempting to book a profit S. Well done. I topped up twice at 2.30 on TTG, so need a bit more. Once we see how sales orders are coming in or not, hoping for a decent rerate. Also should be news on improving business and integration of American acquisition.

T. I saw Scottish Mortgage Trust made their first investment into bitcoin last week for £72 million. Thats only .5% of the trust , but it is the biggest in UK.

M. Our biggest stroke of luck was Boris nearly dying. If it wasn't for his illness which inspired his virtually single handed crusade to buy up vaccines we could easily be and nearly were in the same situation. It is all very harrowing. The only thing we can do as a country is send surplus vaccines and make some equipment. We thought India had it under control, but clearly they have had vaccine production issues too. I was always a bit suspicious of their figures on death rates and transmissions. Of course the EU have been totally pathetic and useless as usual arguing, bickering and now suing AZN for god's sake and they don't want to use them anyway. All they seem concerned with is how much they can make out of the resale and who they can sue for their own incompetence

I think what people forget about capita gains tax in the old system was that it entirely depended how long you held a stock for. An immediate realised gain was taxed at 40% but for every year you held a stock before selling the level of tax reduced down to almost nothing. This is what investing used to be about and encourage stability and long term investment. Probably suited pension funds better. Thats the trouble with governments always looking for quick fix solutions to long term problems.

Actually saying the same as me, just differently. I think I meant there were only two RNS on my PF this morning about voting and NAV, which is quiet. Thats one great thing about Stockopedia It automatically lists RNS in my PF as they come through. Very useful.
