Us rally looks to be running out of steam. Interesting to see where it finishes. I sold Beg today which I kind of regret now . I just felt the need to reduce my exposure if you'll pardon the expression. I bought more ETF FOGB, which inexplicably dropped to 4.30 I morning trading, as well as taking back a position in MCRO at 4.57. I also doubled my holding in ANIC @ 23.8p. It may take a few years but I believe Mellon when he says this is the new Microsoft/Amazon. It will be, it has toe the new food production revolution. Tried to buy more N4P, but those pesky MMs wouldn't let me have any. Will their be news tomorrow I desperately hope.

Bought back into Mcro today, more Anic and FOGB. Sold quite a few small tech and 5g stuff to fund mostly at break even or small profits.

Morning Brigades. Not good news from Israel/Arab conflict. Musk stops accepting bitcoin. Is that Aspergers at play? From Australia iron ore prices plunge. Asian markets lower. Dow Futures modestly higher. EU ask for help as Italy land 2000 refugees. Amazon get 250 million Euro tax bill overturned in court. Heathrow may have to divert flights because of queues at border control. Camper van search off. Don't know which is worse Camper van or House price inflation. Its going to be one crazy summer.

Thats not debt thats to increase their holdings in unlisted companies that will be doing IPO's in the not too distant future and have the backing of many huge corps in the Far East. Its a gamble but a bloody good one. DIY etc

Out of three placing announced last night, one dropped below placing price. Anic now just above placing price although placing 50% below price at beginning of the week, ouch, and MNZS arn't even going to tell you what the placing price is till you tell them how many you want. With a balance sheet like their's I wouldn't even tell them my name

Morning Brigang. Interesting few days ahead. Rausing added another 12 million worth of stock @£19.58 in OCDO yesterday taking his recent sending spree to over £50 million. I'm not sure I've seen director purchasing on that scale before even if it is a trust he runs. Tennis stars baulking at the idea of playing Olympic tournament in the land of the rising Covid. Cant believe they are the only ones, although at some stage I'm going to have to double up on the Japanese trusts. To me it looks like opportunities emerging the same as at the start of the pandemic here a year ago. Gl all

One of those days. Will have been an opportunity or a warning. Well the Dow is currently down only 1.35%, hardly a plunge. Will keep an eye on that. Difficult these situations. Do I have enough money to trade? At some stage Its impossibly not to become fully invested. Although I do carry a kind of reserve reserve. Tend to do a mix of selling something perhaps not too confident about when what looks like gifts present themselves, so quickly trebled my stake in OCDO having been out for far too long. Reluctantly sold DKL, ULS and CIR to fund OCDO and more SDI @1.61. Silly money on both. Yesterday I topped up BEG @1.19 with new money into a slightly risky overweight position. I really cant see the risk as being massive. The purchase price of the financial company is cunningly calibrated to certain achievements being met. I don't know why more companies dont buy acquisitions this way to avoid overpaying. obviously way too complicated for the average broker. The only real hurt is my Japanese stocks. They were doing quite well so the current losses are not as bad as they might have been if I'd bought last September.
How quickly sentiment turns from jubilation on expected record bounce to the depths of despair at inflation. I suspect part of the problem apart from Coronavirus in India and Japan was the ruddy boat stuck in the Suez last month. They did warn there would be a knock on effect in the global supply chain. I was down the timber yard this afternoon and was amazed to see the cupboards almost bare. There is a huge shortage of timber due to the Chinese and Americans being up stocks as supply can't anymore near satisfy demand. The result being that some treated timber has doubled in price. I would hope this is a hiccup rather than a permanent rise. So to echo T earlier hope you are all managing ok. Can be very frustrating game. GL

Morning N. I think Asia have a bit of a double whammy with covid spiralling out of control and inflation is likely to be a big problem with higher food imports and raw materials. The market is clearly nervous and looking for any excuse to sell in May. My Japanese trusts have all been hit, but hoping they will be resilient enough for their economy to resume bounce back strongly when they get their act together later in year. The rest is looking surprising resilient although bit of a sell off in Metal stocks despite prices still surging. I think debt laden companies could become a bit more of a problem as banks will start getting nervous, but I suppose we will just carry on printing money and mining bitcoins

Agree T I really should get back into OCDO. Certainly keeping an eye. Directors seem to have been buying too. Should be an interesting few days on the markets......

Well I suppose inflation was pretty obvious as I think I mentioned last week. Funny how the market has this delayed reaction. I suppose this could be correction of sorts. Hope its not going to ruin the update on ULS (digital conveyancers) They have over 30% of market cap in cash. Made a small loss but revenue up 80% in frenzied housing market

C &N or M, sure there are at least 3 of us in BEG Just read PS report on Stokopedia. He is a holder. Seems well impressed with the latest acquisition and the general strategy of BEG. Sees 50% upside if the market clocks the potential anomaly created by recent acquisitions. So pretty sure that was the reason for recent weakness. Strange market reaction so far but these things take time to bed in.

Morning all. T yes kind of regret that but not as Much as JLP offload. Might have to buy back 20% higher Fortunately BRMW is more than compensating as Commodities really lift off. This is going to affect inflation I would think. I have a holding in DKL. Apart from good production figures price of Palm oil has risen nearly 40% this year and they haven't even started on their Cashew nut processing plant yet on the Ivory Coast. Its all ready, just waiting for electricity. Hope Macron is not supplying that!
C what do you make the BEG acquisition? Quite small but great earnings enhancing potential. Probably explains wobbly sp recently.

No real excitement, but much of my stock seem to stabilise this week or even drift up a bit. Totally messed up on JLP with metals running away. Fxpo nearing £5! At least I have quite stash in BRWM. May well double up on my Japanese trusts over the summer by which time hopefully they will have got a grip on Covid. Economic bounce expected there too later this year. Happy weekend all.

Good grief its friday. Morning everyone . C. If its any consolation Naked Trader still has an open position on AVST @ £4.76 from about September I think. Div this month or next. Its a good company. These new partnerships they have are interesting and I'm not sure if they have been factored in, but not much guidance on how they will contribute to growth. Good recovery from Beg which NT did top slice at 1.20, but then he bought in in a bit lower than me under £1. Was so PD off at missing the placing, but as I was able to buy in virtually at the placing price I trebled up. Nearly every stock that has had a placing has fallen back to that price at some stage. I think WHR was the only one I paid a small premium for. Broker target for Beg is still £1.60 . Just a bit of profit taking here and others that have risen sharply this year, but actually plenty of legs left in most them. Quite a common theme amongst commentators about investors odd behaviour being wary of buying stocks at new highs but quite happy to throw money at falling stocks perceived to be a bargain. As always a fine balancing act to deciding if something is overbought or oversold. Which leads me nicely onto OCDO. I don't know why they make such a big deal of the grocery side of the business when they have negotiations with 6 other companies to provide automated logistics. Going to have to get some I've never hesitated so much on a stock as this one. Practically back to its last placing again.

I think you are both correct in your analysis . PS at Stokopedia wrote a glowing report again on Boo yesterday, his largest and about 75% of stokopedia. Thats the trouble when stocks go tribal! I have dabbled in Boo 3 times and lost once. Not sure if today is an opportunity or a warning. I think I view it as very unpredictable with potential. I guess the expenditure on other bankrupt brands is yet to be justified. For me the whole retail sector, with the possible exception of Next is a bit of a casino waiting for the next shock horror scandal. There are far better risk/reward shares out there IMO. PS got in at a very good price around an average of 2.20 I think. £3 is not bad, would prefer 2.50 but then that would be a worry that something really is wrong.

Sorry M, was it a bit over the top ? He is absolutely outrageous though. He is virtually handing over to Le Panne or the prospect of an army coup is becoming less improbable by the day.
