T totally agree with you. Stunning update from Saga making of the ship yesterday in Portsmouth about forward bookings to 2023 and bringing the program forward. I really tanked up yesterday and today. Its recent refinancing has made it rock solid and the insurance arm more than covers the cash burn. Difficult with a stock like tis not to overload and goes against what I was saying in the spring about being too heavy with one stock, trouble is rightly or wrongly I dont have anywhere near as much faith in anything else. Its basically two great businesses in one.

I would imagine the way such pay works now, not many workers will want time off. A friend tells me mortgage companies are unlikely to give mortgages to self employed again. I remember that particular bias back in the eighties. Not only that we had to pay more for our mortgage but we survived considerably better that those on a wage who were the majority unable to pay their mortgage when it got tough even though we had to pay 18% at one stage! Cost me two grand to get away from those crooks.

Don't wish to sound too blasé about it, but we are now testing ourselves and so far proved negative, and of course continuing to wear make at appropriate times was never in question and never will be for the foreseeable.

T I'm uneasy about where we are going with it. We know human sacrifices are being made to find a way out of this. We can't shut down indefinitely for the sake of preserving lives at all costs. Last night we went to an open air gathering and I met one or two DFLs. They asked me if I knew I alone who had been seriously ill from COVID. I certainly don't know anyone who has been hospitalised. I know about four families that have had COVID in the last 12 months. Presumably a number of people including myself that have had it and passed it off as mild flu.
Its obviously not going to be good for everyone but we just have to hold our nerve and either take it on or withdraw and wither. Faffing about will get us nowhere

Mcro litigation settled. Love doing business in America tire's always someone looking for a free ride. This is about a third of initial claim, so I guess a good result. No liability. Cheaper to settle than pay spiralling lawyer costs. Hopefully good news at last T.

No have stayed out of ASC T. Sorely tempted but this market could go absolutely anywhere in the next couple of months. Japan finally dropped back a little but its already been stated their economy has been set back 2 years. Covid and the Olympics have certainly impacted, but I can't see it can be that bad for their tech and industrial . Depends how much of a debacle Olympics turns into. Still watching Saga closely. I intend to add more but has held up so far against the travel slide. Don't think its going anywhere up for a while.

Thought we would be celebrating by now, but it feels like the wind has been taken out of the sails again. Its going. to take a lot of effort to get going again, but I do feel we are in a better position than we might have been if not for the miraculous work of our scientists and health workers. Hard to know how the meerkat is going to react next. Have bought quite a few Saga shares al the way down and hopefully get a few more tomorrow. Taken some decent profits today from good companies but just don't know what will happen next. Amazed the Japanese market is holding up so well wit the arrival of the Brazilian team infected with COVID. It is ultimately the Olympic Committees decision on whether to proceed. Thats the trouble with Committees they are loathe to make decisions. Its going to be farcical sadly

I see Mcro are offering $70 million to settle patent infringement case. I think that could be a drag on Sp. A lot of people forgot that but the original court figure was £170 million, and it could be more. The Americans just love litigation and they get huge sums of money for no reason other than to get people off their backs. Better be careful what I say

Morning all. Have piled into Saga this morning for better or worse! Sold on news with KMK of results for a decent profit but I get the feeling the market is continually misled, which is a shame because they appear to make some amazing medical diagnostic kit and a pathogen air detector. They just never turn a profit. Must remember not to get too carried away as inflation news hits again and banks told not to get too generous to shareholders. Almost made me cry with laughter!

Its tough out there for sure. I closed all 7 positions in Japan today for a 1% profit, having been about 5 or 6% down at one stage I'm quite glad whatever happens next. The fact that they have recovered well against so much negativity with the COVID Olympics means I probably should have had more patience, but Covid is only 1 risk in Japan and I can see opportunities opening up here again. I particularly like Saga again now they have stable finance secured through bonds for the next 5 years. So will be on the bell with that tomorrow morning. I bought some other interesting stock ETQ (turn waste into energy), now well below placing. Argentex (currency)has suffered because of a slow down due to COVID but had record 1st quarter and their founder director has been selling due to retiring on health grounds. I guess things may get a bit cheaper before summer ends, so trying to remember to leave myself some slack to trade. Couldn't help myself picking up some Boo again. Gluten for punishment! I think perhaps the run up to July 19th is offering up an opportunity for a little bounce in UK stocks at least. Plus China could be taking off again after a bit of a lull.

Japan nikkei has risen 2 days running which is encouraging given the news on their state of emergency with forthcoming Olympics. Other wise by pf has taken a couple of big knocks with both companies publishing results as per updates. Really odd. One company rocketed on the update 2 months ago, only to fall back when it confirmed the results yesterday. O well onward and downward. I have a feeling the momentum has all but vanished in uk stocks at the moment
