Morning all. I think the number of approaches as well as actual takeovers mostly by American companies sums up the state of Uk valuations. The worries what the Americans then do witness companies. Sack the work force and asset strip is the usual practice. I can't think of a single company that has benefitted the British economy from an American takeover in recent years. Cadburys went to Kraft and they welched on the agreement about factories and staff. Autonomy went to HP, but Autonomy and Darktrace founder Mike Lynch under a vest for cooking de books. Strange that Mcro then buy off HP but no arrests made there. And now Meggit possibly going to an American company with all our sensitive secret information. This is company who's business is paid for by UK tax payers for heavens sake to keep the UK safe.

Bizarrely muted reaction from Carnival up 1.4%, Saga up 1.2 % to news of the resumption of cruising in and out of UK without quarantine for vaccinated passengers. Would have expected a rise of at least 10% on this news. Could hardly say its already priced after Saga dropped fro £4.60 3 weeks ago

Good morning all. More belated salutations T. Had the power down yesterday for some new electrickery. Markets seem to be in the doldrums all over at the moment but I think the outlook is still positive for UK being so 'cheap.' I read name fund mages are cooling off on USA and switching weighting to UK. So we good see some disparity waining between the two indexes. Hope that doesn't mean the Dow drops back to our level!

It seems the consensus is that COVID is here to stay, and has been for sometime. The Chinese are refusing to cooperate with WHO again. Guilt written all over them. I know they don't do guilt or humanitarianism, but you would thing it sis in their interest to help sort this out.
Cummings is right on one thing, Boris needs to get a grip on his leadership or resign. This pingdemic is causing unnecessary stress everywhere. Obviously Boriski has mislaid his common sense if he ever had any.

I have noticed a very delayed reaction to good results. have had that with three stocks now. First move is down and then the bounce the following day

Up with the Lark, Seagulls, Oyster Catchers, Starlings , Sparrows, Swallows and Tom Cobbly and all. Couldn't sleep so ended up reclaiming Sandwich Golf course at about 5 this morning with houndy poundy of course, cos he wanders from room to room through out the night barking at his own shadow which keeps following him wherever he goes to his amazement along with his tail.
I guess I'm excited about the possibility of a very good day. Already had cracking results on the tin Miner I purchased yesterday ATM. Bound to get trashed by the market for such insolence paying off loan notes and 10 fold increase in production.

Just a couple of trades today both below recent placings, which is reassuring in some ways but possibly stupid in others! PTRO and ATM small caps telecom and tin. Lets hope market stabilises as I'm close to breaking own rules 'room to trade' or lack of it. I suppose that could also mean taking some profit to trade, but actually I did sell one small loss to top up more SAGA yesterday which paid off so far.

Its actually pretty selective this bounce so far.

Good morning all. Indeed the very same PS. In many ways we are back to the beginning of the pandemic with the Stockmarket. Obviously the deals are not any where near those levels now and perhaps we have a better understanding of what we are dealing with and how to combat it. So hopefully Monday was 'the big sell off.' Paul is very knowledgeable about stock and has the experience of almost going bankrupt in dot bomb stock market and financial crash, to presumably being a millionaire again. He can be quite abrupt and defensive, but his judgement on what he knows about (retail particularly as a former accountant) is very sound. I actually did have some experience of Dehaan after he sold SAGa and met a couple of times in very informal social gatherings. So I am a little biased perhaps. Paul on the other hand is strictly no nonsense numbers man and is convinced the market has completely missed the SAGA potential. The trouble is it was the city mostly who got stuffed by the flotation and they do tend to harbour old wounds. Don't think they can blame any of it on Dehaan. Its more of their own kind who fleeced them through appalling business practices and wrecking a perfectly sound company. Assuming we can get on top of the pandemic and it doesn't mutate into a super nova virologist nightmare, I'd say the world is our Oyster, but be careful of the open ones!
