If MM announces the intention to take private then going by many other recent similar announcements then the market hits the share price by about 50%, then it bobbles back and forth between the before and after price until it happens. Have watched several.

I do concur thoughwith you Oke that it would play right into Mike Ashley's hands for cheap shares.

It's hard on reflection to come up with 1 decision that MM and Co has made that has actually been of benefit to his shareholders. Surely he has to step down if its a FTSE250 miss? Surely?

President Z tried undiplomatically tried to hold PoTUS to ransom by not signing the MInerals deal unless he got US security guarantees with it and he openly admitted also that he was trying to get America to adopt a more favourable negotiating position for Ukraine, whilst PoTUS was after adopting a line down the middle.

It unfortunately has backfired and several notable commentators have told President Z since to make good his relations with the US and to sign the deal. Emotion aside he is being reminded of the reality of biting the hand that feeds you.

Imvho it will speed things up and bring Oresudent Z back into line as he will apologise and sign on the dotted line of the Minerals Deal in short order. It also serves as a reminder that will need to make compromises. Same will apply to Russia if they falter also. "President Z never held the cards, American aid has made him the tough guy that he is..." remember all the rhetoric.

Will be a busy day or two for diplomacy and whilst Macron, Starmer and EU Leaders expedite their Peace Plan.

Good top up opportunity if you think it will ultimately advance the peace process imvho

Was always on the "cards" after Friday and rhetoric since and several had already advised President Zelenski what he should be doing, including the Nato Chief.

There are levers there for Russia also including ghost ships and much tougher sanctioning.

Lets see if my prediction comes off.

Can you actually believe that after nearly 2 years of waiting and repeated pushing off Kelso to go for Premium Listing regardless and market cap's which would normally have left it knocking at the door of the FTSE100 at one point, here we are on the Eve of the reshuffle decision and struggling to get into the FTSE250.

Yet another one of that 95% of advice that was binned because the CEO knew best.

It looks like 4 are leaving and 4 are entering.

All 4 predicted to enter have higher Market Caps than THG.

Needs a 10% day imvho to make the cut.

A 1 month truce as Macron has just suggested will help it on it's recovery path LT1.

My own feelings though are that President Zelenski will at some point imminently apologise to Donald J Trump (Publicly or privately) and will also sign the Mineral Rights deal, and in return he will get continued military support. But it will come with a finite timeframe put on it and concessions will have to be made.

Calm head and independent set of eyes Wafty and free from any entanglements or allegiances.

1 month truce definitely in the interests of fxpo if the aim is a cessation of damage , destruction and loss of life through air, seas and infrastructure targeting. would let us get on producing, full steam ahead and with minimal risk of warfare disruptions. big plus.

eu through macron and starmer now also advancing ukranian and eu shared interests and a suggested solution from their side. not a bad idea either to be sidelining zelenski out of any direct negotiations.

back to shuttle**** diplomacy and meetings with putin and key eu leaders hopefully leading in there a meeting of minds and a prolonged ceasefire and deal. mineral rights deal signed at some point imminently along the way.

as the saying goes

Take out the missiles, drones, aircraft and targeting of infrastructure and shipping and ports under an air and sea truce !!

The stock challenge website updated the rankings by market cap on Friday (28th Feb) and things have changed since the "indicative" reshuffle and sorry to say it but unless there is a major miracle THG are going to miss the cut and that's even despite the fact it looks like 4 out and 4 new ones in and one more than previously indicated.

It looks like 3 of the positions are going to be filled by Financials and the other being Canal+

In: Canal+ (CAN), Close Brothers Group (CBG) , Asia Dragon Trust (DGN), JP Morgan European Growth (JEGI)

It's got until close of play tomorrow but surely if it misses inclusion some at the top now seriously need to examine their worthiness to still be in position - and do the honourable thing in the interests of all shareholders and step aside.

Sounds logical and I think it stands a good chance of succeeding firstly given it's not a major ask and also given the noticeable thawing in US / Russia relations and Putins stated willingness to engage in peace talks in recent weeks.
