Things seem to be moving quickly. The Russians from what I can see in all the media are not making the progress they would wish and are meeting heavy resistance, and with international condemnation mounting and support growing on so many fronts: military aid, humanitarian aid, the UN, public demonstrations and protests. The removal of Russia from Swift and all the other sanctions seem to have worked as a lever in bringing both sides to the negotiating table.

The markets may well view peace talks as a positive development.

rustybucket I think you are wrong and it is both a sell and a buy and think you need to pay bit more attention to these Uncrossing trades, particularly if they are on the larger side.

I've found this link which seems to be saying that those with Direct Market Access (larger players in the market) can buy and sell in the auction after the market closes.

I think you may have misinterpreted that Foxykiwi because the Uncrossing Trade is a matched sell and buy recorded as one trade. I've just been researching it.

Although it is showing as a sell I'd probably say it was a buy. The market makers lowered the price into the close and restricted buying so they could get enough to sell on and to match with a buyer.

It does seem quite a big buy 3,731,940 shares as I couldn't even get £2500 worth of shares at the close. It might be how your shorts are reducing.

The price is also higher at 9.45p than the Bid and Offer of 9.295 and 9.36p when the market officially closed.

In the last 10 minutes but I kept getting a Negotiated trade message.

All the other Russian Ukranian shares are doing well. Evraz is up 21%, Polymetal International is up 16% and Ferrexpo which actually has a plant in Ukraine is up 6.5%.

Do they go home early on a Friday? First time I have encountered that.

Shall try again on Monday.

700 points down to 91 points blue in the Dow. Possibly the realisation that although things are kicking off in Ukraine, the US, UK and Nato are providing vital support they are staying stopping at the border.

I'm happy to take the dividend and a 12% discount for what is essentially a UK based bank, set to buy back £2 Billion worth of its own shares and with interest rates on the increase.

Good entry price for either a takeover or for gas production. Price cap raised makes it a licence to print money.
