Strikes never help shares but BT held up well today and Uefa until 2027 will help. People I know who have renewed with BT were given similar priced contracts to their existing ones but the new ones had inflationary price clauses built in where the price for renewal was quoted about the same but it can go up through the year based on a review date whereby inflation plus a foxed percentage increases the bill. That should help them weather the storm and meet increased wage demands to avert any strikes.

I think it was rising into the close not in expectation of an RNS tomorrow but rather because the number of transactions had slowed down to only a trickle, indicating oversold. No point in dropping it any further therefore as nobody was selling. Better supply, demand and transactions if you lift the share price again to nearer where it should be. Its nice to be holding a riser on a dull day and probably one of the safer shares to be holding. Lower risk if its undervalued.

Not huge volume per se. Chairman paid at an already depressed price of 86.27 so nobody is being tempted to sell.

It could just as easily be 100p or 120p and I think there would be the same reaction. If somebody is happy to take shares at 83.8p then there has to be demand for them at higher price. Wake me up when it goes over £1.00 again as it should signify another bid.

I just came on the board to comment on the same. I think they will be lucky if they see 2 million shares traded all day.
It is hardly surprising though really if the Non Executive chairman of THG just bought £1 Million pounds worth of shares at an already depressed 86.27 pence. Recent declined bids were almost double that.

If the Chairman is canny enough to buy at 86.3p then I am happy to join him at 3p less. This share just keeps giving and giving.

I think the longer people with short positions keep them open then the riskier it becomes for the next news piece. Could the large trades mentioned earlier be Director buys. I know several would like to see them.

0.75% had been anticipated by the market and now it is out the way people are buying in again. Both Nasdaq and the Dow Jones are up as you point out beatrootjuice.

JonHarris I followed your lead. TUI has operations in many countries outside of the UK which will be operating normally and I suppose the surprise is that Easyjet which is cancelling more flights than others combined actually gained 3.71%.

I think you are right. Next bid will be over the £1.70.

Nick Candy, or Candy and MM to take it private at a higher price. So much interest and MM knows it was a mistake to list in the UK

Indeed that is a good question as that is where the share price should presently be, but I'd prefer to wait and see what Nicky Candy comes up with or whether Matt Moulding takes it private himself or with another. Would make a good return if they then relist in the US a little further down the line.

Great news and another couple of buy orders being filled along the way looking at the big trades. Will we be back on the road to 150p by close on Wednesday.

Managed to get a few more at the present level and happy with my top up.

Did not ever think when this was at 150p that it would have been possible. Let us see what materialises given somebody thinks 170p is the starting point for a bid.

170p is the first bid level which all know is opportunistic. You always expect to pay higher than that in the end. Regardless an independent set of eyes values THG at 170p.

That said I am fully expecting more than one interested party to emerge and the bids to go up in steps.

That is what you are meant to think.

Much better just to sit this out for we know somebody already values it at £1.70. A £2.00 formal bid appears reasonable and then if Nick Candy shows his hand then it could get interesting.

We all know it is worth more than todays share price.

If they know £1.70 won't please then the table a better offer and up jumps the price again. Nick Candy seems to be waiting with his offer to see what happens. Whatever way you look at it THG is value at this present level.

Will they provide us with the opportunity to top up at £2.00. That would be good value.
