7.20: Retail sales see largest monthly rise since April 2021

This is what Heather Bovill, deputy director for surveys and economic indicators at the ONS, said of today’s retail sales beat: “After a very weak December, retail sales rebounded in January with the largest monthly rise since April 2021.

“This means that overall sales have now recovered to pre-December levels, although if we look at the broader picture, they are still below where they were pre-pandemic.

“Sales increased across nearly all retail sectors, and it was a particularly strong month for supermarkets.

Household goods stores, sports shops and department store retailers were amongst those reporting robust trading due to January sales promotions. A fall in prices at the pump also meant a solid month for fuel sales.

“Clothing shops were the only area not to see growth this month.”

The good news propelled FTSE 100 futures higher, with the lead index expected to open 46 points higher at 7,645.

For too long too many blind eyes have been turned to the old Hedge Fund and Insider dealing ploys and it would appear MM's rhetoric, and constant CityAM articles now seem to be gaining momentum.

"The regulator said there was risk that workers were being approached by criminals, and added: "It's likely that OCGs' recruitment of information sources is targeted at junior members of staff."

It advised companies to look out for suspicious patterns of trading before merger and acquisition announcements and press reports - and to also watch out for multiple clients "trading in the same security for the first time".

The FCA warned that feeding "true and false stories" to the press could be another indicator of criminal involvement in financial markets - and that all trades placed before media reports appeared should be regarded as "potentially suspicious".

The regulator said staff who work in merger and acquisition roles should avoid references to having access to insider information on their social media profiles.

It said firms should avoid naming such staff on their social media channels as well.

Speaking on Wednesday following the announcement about the arrests, Steve Smart, joint executive director at the FCA, said insider dealing posed a "significant threat to the integrity of financial markets both in the UK and overseas".

He added: "The FCA is committed to combatting organised criminal networks involved in this threat.

"We work tirelessly, using our own sophisticated monitoring systems and specialist teams, to identify and disrupt people involved at each stage of these trading events from the insider leaking information, people who sell inside information to traders and brokers who facilitate access to the trading market.

"Working with our domestic and international enforcement partners we will continue to use all the powers and tactics available to us to disrupt this threat."

Today dealt an abject lesson to all the negative posters on here over the last week or so. So entwined do they get in their own negativity and vomit that they didn't even see the gift horse of an opportunity that was being presented to them yesterday from 1.7p to 1.85p with most if not all of the previous placing shares having already been forward sold. I even posted them the 150 Million trade.

So do yourself a favour, keep your own counsel, do your own research and always keep some powder dry for these stocks. Was fortunate enough to top up a lot of these yesterday at 1.70p, 1.72p and 1.77p.

Noble Helium's Shallow Well results off the Upper, Middle and Lower Lake Beds levels. We drilled through these and went much deeper. Free flowing Gas cap for Noble and 2 deep reservoirs which if you add the heights together just about matches the height of the Rock of Gibralter.

Placing shenanigans now out the way and strength into the close, then it would not surprise me if we start heading back to and surpassing recent highs. 3p the next immediate target but don't be surprised if it goes much higher. Seen it many times with mining and resource stocks whereby on a big find it initially rises but gets muted, then it gets pulled back big time. The City loads up and then it flies. Hopefully we follow that pattern.

That shortage is also why having only just found their Helium they are already in discussions with several offtakers who are happy to fund the downstream - whereby they will offtake it and truck it to port as well.

Lets be honest about it, if you have just got up to 4.7% Helium and 2.2% Hydrogen wouldn't you be expecting Lorna Blaisse's mobile to be yielding similar calls.

The helium shortage was covered only yesterday in the Noble presentation - they refereed to it as the helium shortage 4 point Oh (4.0)

Worth catching if you haven't already seen it as they Noble are our closest neighbours in Tanzania.

Bear in mind they only drilled the 3 layers of the Lake Beds whereas we went through all of that and down to 961 metres and found up to 4.7% Helium and 2.2% Hydrogen.

Looks like some are going to get left behind!!

It must be bugging the #ell out of Noble at the moment that HE1 is sat on up to 4.7% helium and 2.2% Hydrogen off 961M down into the basement and they only went to the bottom of the lake Beds with their Mbelele 1 and Mbelele 2 wells.

So will Noble come to us for the hire of our Drilling Rig to drill deep? $$$. It has to be a real serious consideration for them. It must be playing on their minds given what we uncovered in the basement at Itumbula.
