Done some FTSE selling to de-risk. Might use the proceeds to add more CASP!

Cheers KK, Let's hope you're right and it's not a knee jerk. I think with NHS trusts declaring crisis he has to do something but it's how that pans out. I think lock-downs etc are out as this would be seen as Boris gambling and coming up short (political suicide). He may make a big play on the Nightingale overflows and push the boosters again. He could revisit quarantine periods for NHS staff but he's already played that card and claimed that they have it right at 7 days. Aside from that it would be some sort of further restrictions with Boris saying I told you we would stay on top of the data? Not an issue for CASP but I'm invested in the FTSE as well where the impact might be bigger. Nothing much happening there atm. We are not quite out of the woods yet though!

I'm just over 1M shares myself with today's buy so it's £10k/penny which ever way it goes from here. Spread seems wide again today..... Our friends the MM's no doubt? I've been into CASP/Roxi for longer than I care to admit and I'm more hopeful than I have been for a while. Let's hope the market see's it the same way. Come on Clive......

New Variants pop up on a fairly regular basis. Not many make into the WHO's Greek alphabet though. Be interesting to see how it develops and if the WHO take time out to designate it. Might just fizzle out like the majority of variants? Omicron is so transmissible it's not going to be easy to displace.

Just added another 125k shares. Have to accept the risk of retrace if there is an extended silence but want to be well stocked if we get positive news.

Be nice to see the plan to reduce the debt ahead of schedule at YE and Brent back in the $80's by, if not before Feb. They would be my signals to add.

DC, lol. Not sure if the good doctor has ever advocated that the earth is flat but I know a few people that do! I think Campbell still teaches but not sure where. Much of his Covid stuff is derived from studies done elsewhere. I'm still hanging onto the flat earth theory myself...... but then again I also believe that Lloyds will get back up to £1 one day. Both theories seem equally likely IMO.

KK, couldn't agree more. Uncertainty is just about the only certainty we have in the oil market atm so CASP need to focus on producing oil and making this work now. The potential here is, and always has been, fantastic. It's just been frustrating waiting to see it realised. We now have the fields, licences and knowledge to grow this business into the something special that Clive told us he was sitting on a couple of years ago. Covid must have been a shock to the system for CASP. It was touch and go there for a while in terms of company survival. The only saving grace was a relatively low cost base and low debt. I was kicked out of CASP on my stop loss on the way down and I stayed out at 1.5p as it looked like too much of a punt. Oh how it's turned around during the last few months. OK we need to get through the Kaz winter when things tend to slow down but after that it's game on and we need to hold people to account for making our investment in these holes in the ground pay off. There's no more room for excuses. It's time to deliver.

There's some really helpful info on Doc Campbell's YouTube channel if you're interested? There is research indicating that while the antibody response offered from prior infection or vaccination against Omicron is weak, the B & T cell response is at a similar level of effectiveness as other variants. For a simpleton like me that means vaccination/prior infection wont stop you contracting Omicron but it should mean much milder symptoms and a more rapid recovery. Tough luck if you have had neither a previous Covid infection nor any Jabs and you are clinically vulnerable. The transmissiblity of Omicron could mean restrictions would be less effective than other variants and even if we did manage to slow Omicron down it might delay it's displacing of Delta which may prove counter productive. There is still a significant risk to the economy here as we may wind up with the people we need to keep the country going isolating and unable to work. In my head there is light appearing at the end of the tunnel and we may see UK infections peak in the next couple of weeks providing the wheels don't fall off public services before then. I'm no doom monger but, despite some hopeful signs, we are not out of the woods just yet.

Still causing a drag on oil demand but there maybe some light appearing at the end of the tunnel. Yes, infection cases are still increasing but at a far more manageable rate than the doom mongers were predicting a month ago. Omicron has overtaken Delta and may well displace it which could well be a good thing. Omicron appears to be less severe than Delta and hospitalisations are rising far more slowly than infections. Hospital stays are, on average, shorter and the treatments are tending to be less invasive with the ICU numbers flat. We know Omicron can evade the antibody response that vaccination/prior infection give us but the B & T cell response is similar to the other variants so yes, we can catch it, but symptoms for the vaccinated should be milder and recovery quicker with less risk of hospitalisation. Hopefully the UK infection rates will peak in Jan and while other variants will pop up the transmissiblity and immune response that Omicron will leave us with will make it tough for another variant to become dominant. All very rose tinted and all IMHO but I needed a break from the doom and gloom.

Blimey TT. I thought I was suffering with an average of 7p, how did you manage to average in at 12? It's very news driven here so it's going to take a healthy dose of success to get us back to 12p. Good luck. We'd all like to see that number reached and exceeded. If and when we get there you might want to think about hanging on and realising some profit? Lot's of threads here about patience which probably says it all.

Might be a difficult week or two for oil? Mild weather and Covid drag reaching it's peak across large swathes of the globe are going to hurt demand. If inventories are higher than forecast then short might be the place to be. CASP don't usually suffer as much as some of the other oilers when oil is retracing so not expecting any major adjustments unless we get news. Let's hope it's positive if we do. Spud's/A8/SY back on stream?

H, Absolutely. If Clive offered me 153 for £6M I'd be down the bank looking for a loan. The two licences to sell oil at international prices must be worth a packet, not to mention all the equipment and the boat. I think I'd stick a zero on the end of that £6M and see if it sticks.

KK, Totally agree. I think we will see news on the resumption at SY as well as a plan for development there in the not too distant. I'm hoping Shin is going to change our deep fortunes and we get some sort of a positive result at A8. Been here too long to pin too much on that but we have a profitable and growing oil business here with low levels of debt and that alone makes 5p look like good value to me. There has been a load of people in and out here looking for a quick buck. Good luck to them but I think this is a keeper for now.

With oil knocking on the door of $80 and oil production finally ramping up the SP represents better value now than at any time in recent memory. I thought 6p ish was where we'd land following the pre Christmas news so happy to get a top up at 5. All IMHO of course.

JCB, I have no idea how far SY can be developed but I'm looking forward to finding out. At local prices SY was probably not worth expanding but with the licence granted it's an exciting prospect. Logistics is the next hurdle. How are they going to transport all this oil? They have talked about this before so we might see a plan in the near future. With a doubling of output over the last few months it's a nice problem to have

I agree. Disappointing that it retraced so quickly. To be fair to the day traders they have probably made more today than I have after several years here. I'd like to see 6p (ish) early in the new year on momentum from the last two days of news. Silence much beyond that will, if history repeats itself, cause the SP to leak somewhat despite much improved fundamentals. I'll hold for now and possibly add if there is some further retrace. Good news from here would be positive developments on Omicron and oil back in the $80's. I'd jump through hoops if A8 comes good but hope is presently running ahead of expectation on that one. As for the boat..... do they have icebergs in the Caspian sea at this time of year?
