A stock yielding approx. £9% usually indicates major problems. This stock has a history of problems...
Perhaps the tide is turning & hopefully this ( historically mediocre ) BoD show their willingness to address one of the Groups main problems ~ Debt.
If not .... the vultures (Elliot) will no doubt .........Swoop !!

nuri123a ~ why do you continue to add to your modest holding of AV. ? You've long been bullish of this non growth stock ... surely it's not just the attractive yield.
Far more exciting Growth situations elsewhere I suggest...

On reflection I suspect that the market is probably factoring in a dividend cut later this month ...we'll see.

This stock has really been a bit of a mare since flotation. However every dog & all that. Was looking @ under 40p to start a holding but 1) The Brexit fiasco now ( 3/9/2019) looks like dragging the UK into Another election... not, I would suggest, good for the equity market. 2) Have doubts that the 3p dividend will be held. A 10% yield is pointing that way. 3) If Corbyn's comrades get (even) into an alliance with the 4th form debating society (known under the heading Lib Dems) ... all bets are off... So i'll hold off a tad longer

Meanwhile , for today at least, this issue seems to be having some traction on the share price....

Comments on this Board seems unperturbed by the alleged impropriety by members of the BoD regarding dealings in properties of newly acquired business's.

I have followed this stock since the tragedy of Grenfell & despair at the slow progress being made, as mentioned in the House yesterday.
The company appears to be in a prime position to be part of the rectification of historical mistakes.
Mondays AGM will, no doubt, focus on the bright future ahead......given the company stays independent !!

An American fund manager finished a large sell order on Friday ........which may well have helped
