I thinks its winter hedging activity more related to oil price than PMO. October/Nov is iffy for oil and PMO is a nice target with decent swings, but also TLW seeing increases too. October refinery shut ins and less driven miles means rises in the storage levels and I think that lower exports last week in US due to port shut in for weather. The bigger picture is that NOPEC are deemed incapable of achieving 1mbo increase in production so 80 looks like a good figure for Brent.

If the report is correct and demand actually out strips supply (It has not done that for several years now) it will be a real incentive for oil to stay in this area of 75/85 in the medium term. We really don't want to see much more than that as it wont be good for longer term SP as already some economies feeling the pinch due to weaker currencies and higher energy costs.

I don't see any real bad news on horizon, although I believe it will be difficult to achieve middle guidance due to the mid year being a bit low at 76.2. Personally think we will come in at 82kboed for the year. If we do achieve the upper level that would mean that next year we will guide between 83/88. That would be a real boost assuming Brent hangs in at 75+. The realized price will be the key to performance. Maybe we will get a reserves upgrade at Catcher.

hard to believe were being negative about an oil price that's over 80, the swings are because its gone too high too fast. so while were all wishing for 90 or 100 were actually creating the negative sentiment for oil. trump doesn't help but alas 100 / 120 oil will kill demand a lot sooner than our SP will rise to reflect that wonderful number.

slow and steady is better for sustained sp, 75 to 85. ideal numbers with 85 maybe a bit rich for some big emerging economies like India.

I don't disagree with the notion of either selling SL or taking over RKH. The Falkland deal was made in a different time when companies were euphoric about oil prices. I would say the same thing at $100 oil. It's too risky considering the terms.

because oil is being played the stocks of oil companies too, market is not behaving like a free market now with SA and US in cahoots to help get Trump through the mid terms (its imperative, for SA as whet will they do if he's ousted or has his wings clipped), The big money will play that factor as they know there is a nice spread between 71/72 and 776 / 78 oil. They are not playing with their own money. wouldn't worry too much about the overall outcome of this as with oil in 70,s PMO is doing well.
