Big oil is getting in for 2 reasons. 1 so as to replace dwindling production from ageing assets and 2 so they can control the shale sector. And by that I me ask they won't over produce in shale to detriment of other larger business segments. There was no control. And now there will be.

It's as good for oil prices as bad for them and I had wondered how long before they moved in that direction.
