RE: RE: Breaking News could it be all over in days?12 Sep 2022 15:14
Zelensky has suspended all opposition parties and he himself is thoroughly corrupt, much like Putin. Zelensky has a lot of off shore activity and foreign property ownership for someone on his wage. Like many western politicians it's an apparent mystery how he went from nobody to multi billionaire. "fantastic news for democrats". Ermmmm, ya sure about that? You are aware of the historic allegations (Guardian Documentary, among others) levied against elements of the Ukrainian military? Further have you ever heard of the Ukrainian national hero Stepan Bandera? If not I invite everyone to research why that should be problematic for continued western support of Ukraine in the here and now. Kinda pertinent if one claims to stand for western values. Also DPR and LPR militia have done most of the heavy lifting in Donetsk. The degree to which the RF has allowed such militias to call the shots is arguably a military failing but in allowing a sense of ownership over liberation it could be a good idea long term. Regardless. Wagner and RF elements are not doing the heavy lifting, the militia have being. That may change going forward given internal criticisms of the SMO in Russia. Which I will stress amount to, Putin. Stop messing around and win this. There is next to no internal support for suing for peace/capitulation despite what some think in the west.
Further as to perceived moral high grounds by some what was the conclusion of that OCSE report highlighting the treatment of POWs at the hands of Ukrainian forces these past 8 years? Then one must muse upon the anecdotal reports of hospitals overflying in recent days. Does that sound like a cost free advance to you Ricardo? Where's the POW parades as well? Just equipment innit. Almost as if it was a hasty but ordered retreat that prioritized personnel over equipment cos Russian hospitals are not overflying. Ukie ones are.
Blind support is never good and that is what Ukraine has being afforded to the detriment of working people the world over. On the claims surrounding Kharkiv; given stated losses of personnel Vs territorial gains/losses the term Pyrrhic victory springs to mind re Kharkiv. Oh and this bit. "they still need to crush the best Russian units. That has not yet happened en mass."
Well it sure has happened the other way round for many months now. Conscription age up to 70(evil if you ask me, Hitler in the bunker levels of denial) and women will soon be conscripted as well. Zelensky tried that earlier in the conflict but unpopular)Yeah, cos Ukie reserves are just brimming with well trained fighting age combatants and the path to victory is assured because of this one successful gambit on a badly defended front.
Much ado about nothing if you ask me. We shall see how things lay in a weeks time. I'd wager there will be no disintegration of RF fronts or forces. If anything they are due to be bolstered. Some 15k-17k 6 month trained Ruskies set to enter the fray in the coming weeks.
