What we were trying to get over to you was the fact most people do not delve in to stocks unlike the way a number of you have done. It was only by accident we found you and your posts
We initially paid 17p as it looked reasonably cheap but when it dropped we were going to cut our losses but accidentally opened the chat posts. Something we had never done before, any where. Remember we are approaching 80 as well as disabled and think differently to you. We read re read and waited then more interesting posts arrived and we got hooked.
As for investment trusts we moved back in to them last year to get a wide coverage of stocks world wide plus various sectors including Aim rather than just buying out of favour stocks. etc. as we were no longer up to it and just wanted an easy ride and let the IT do the work.
Following the crash in February we did go back picking up cheap stocks that were well under priced and it has paid off again giving us large % profits over a few months, there are a few that are going nowhere and we have increased our holding in some of them we have faith in. We are still buying them but it will probably be the last time, well until there is another crash!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now , most people do not have the time or inclination to do what some of you have done and they simple follow what news papers etc say. If they look at FFWD they see a small I.T. that is not doing very much and has recovered to what is generally publicised as its NAV of 12p. They prefer a I.T. that has a proven record, after all there are so many to chose from that cover all sectors. So FFWD will be ignored until it gets publicity in the papers or a higher NAV to show it is going places. They look for I.Ts. that are under their NAV as it gives both the chance to grow and give larger % dividends because you are buying stocks under the price you would pay if you bought the company individually.
They do not read your posts so why should they buy a small I.T. that has only gone down with so many quality I.Ts about. That is why we suggested the average investor ignores it. You have to realise most investors are not like you and want brand names or newspaper recommendations.
Well not too good now, so will be to bed soon as we have medical appointments tomorrow.
To Dapr who sided with our comments, thank you, it must be months possibly a year since someone did agree with us.
Take care all.
