Zelos - There are almost 4 billion shares owned by many thousands of holders. There was massive buying from Jan 2020 to drive the SP increase from 2p. Those who bought would be sitting on big profits. A significant proportion of those would want to realise some or all of their profits. This would particularly apply to trade investors, many of whom are obliged to show cash profits rather than paper ones. So, many holders would have been selling down over the past 3 months, happy to consolidate gains and probably obtaining free rides for their balance. What happened this week was that the overhang of 'surplus' (selling pressure) shares reduced to below the buying demand. MMs were caught unaware, and to meet demand had to raise offer prices. Today has been traders cashing in their short term gains.
There is every indication that the buying pressure has been fairly consistent, so when those willing to sell at current levels reduce, the SP will increase. This is likely however to be a gradual process, as with so many shares in issue, each SP increase will find new sellers.
