I agree if there is delay over trying to implement more of the suggested recommendations the sp will be hit very hard but I believe everything the company has done so far has been gearing up to getting it so it would be a little bit of a shock to the locals if they start laying some off as some of the investment they are waiting on is dependent on ratification and some of that investment would be going on local labour

I believe that Parliament considers the comments and recommendations of the Committee and casts a vote. Two thirds vote passes. The bill is then sent for Presidents assent ..

I do agree with the notion that it is a frustrating situation when we do not even have a date when we can expect it to come before parliament let alone the outcome particularly as it is already beyond the timeline we were originally given but it is what it is..just the impending election that we need to get it done before otherwise we could be dealing with a bunch of different people..it is not that often that you come across a potentially great company with good people running it that can benefit so many ..hopefully not thwarted by politics but certainly not by the lack of effort of Atlantic team !

A bit unwarranted that comment I would say swest .. I bet there is so much going on in the background to bring this all to fruition and NH is earning every bit of his salary !!

I would not have expected the price to go up on that tweet although it would be great if the visit is with regards to getting ratification over the line..economically things are not great in Ghana and you can see why having the income from Ewoyaa and employment would be a great help there must also be many voters out there willing to give the opposition party the opportunity to turn the economy around and we don't want that delay as it would be a huge spanner in the works ..fingers crossed itvis soon

Teddy , Yes Keith speaks well but clearly still a few ifs and buts ! I agree re their remaining stake in Atlantic and not really a concern as I am sure someone would snap it up..we just have to concentrate on what Atlantic need to do to proceed..similar sort of situation ironically as to when we were waiting for the mining permit in the first place

To be honest Teddy Keith Phillips said some months ago that he anticipated financing Piedmonts share of Ewoyaa build through offtake agreement .. if I remember correctly I think i said that I hoped they were not trying to deal with the same partners that Atlantic were talking too.. Did you also notice that Phillips said at the end of the chat that he may monetize the rest of Piedmonts stake in Atlantic which may weigh heavy on our sp but maybe not so if we start to get a run of overdue news

Teddy I agree we really could do with getting on with things although clearly some things are out of our hands and it is not always a good situation when yiu are relying on others but we are where we are..however I am sure the pack chasing the same objectives regardless of jurisdiction will come up against similar issues and might not necessarily be in the same fortunate financial costings position that we are in..nonetheless we really could do with some positive news and action now as it has been rather quiet of late !!

I don't know what their cash position is but if they need to raise to pay for Ewoyaa development their declining sp could make it a bit tricky !

Unfortunately parliament voting includes the opposition which as we are all aware often means voting against just because..even though it means creating lots of jobs for Ghanaians and wealth for the economy common sense goes out the window ..however lets just hooe it goes through and soon !!

Piedmont still suffering..they are currently going through a cost cutting programme which I believe should have been implemented by now but reducing their numbers by circa 30% ..hopefully looking forward to better times ahead !

Without doubt that is for sure..maybe even get a snippet this week !
