I don’t see the same cap as you. I believe that accumulating value in the combination will be reflected in the share price…along with the multiple other factors that will drive the price, for better or worse. However, your fear is a valid one and not an impossible outcome - I just don’t see it on the balance of probabilities.

If only, dick. The ‘see everything’ bit rather than the admiration aspect. One neither seeks nor expects the latter. However, I maintain a hope and expectation that this company can deliver more than the majority expected from this transaction. Of course, what shareholders receive will be subject to many unknowns, not least the random policies of those that are elected to govern us.

Not necessarily. Each holding is sized in a portfolio based on its risk-adjusted prospects. If they regard it as cheap, they don’t just constantly load up.

Refer to my previous on this. Down to interpretation and imagination (nod to NewK’s grand plan) not information per se. We all had the same info but took different views. I remain very content as a long-term investor. I don’t need to see the share price appreciate in a matter of weeks or months. It’s still 10x the level at which I bought it, so happy to wait.

Hello Banbury. I offered negative analysis? Don’t recall that. To be honest, I read what was provided, talked to a few people, thought about it and made my mind up. I didn’t do any real analysis in that sense. Tempting to build a proprietary model, but one cannot share those on here. There will be no ‘told you so’ from me, if this ends well. Maybe a little teasing, but nothing malicious. If those that disliked the deal stick with their ownership and it all comes good, I will be delighted for all. I certainly do not, and hope I did not show, disrespect to those that had a different view from me. Unless provoked…

I maintain that a few folks became unhinged (not aimed at anyone specifically) about the whole thing and didn’t step back and think through it. Talk of collusion, backhanders, insider info, etc. Some only saw what they wanted to and exhibited massive confirmatory bias. Not unusual. One of many investor heuristics, seen time and time again.

Banbury, I could expect those things in a Trading or Financial Update rather than Ops. On your other question, I am simply as naive as you are. The question is, can I look beyond the wording of a Circular and the terms of the transaction and see a compelling combination deliver strong returns in future years? The answer to that one is Yes. Is that blind faith? Naivety? Ignorance and belligerence? Maybe, but all investment decisions rely on informed judgment and mine is what it is. Others can and do take an equally informed but opposite view. 30+ years of doing this thing for a living helps inform my judgment, but nothing says I am right or that others are wrong. The one thing we all have in common is that we cannot see around corners.
