NewK - highly unlikely any institution will publicise its voting intention or view on the deal. It’s too small to warrant any PR.

No. Traditional long-only equity portfolios, no shorting and we don’t lend stock either. Some of our larger separate account clients (typically $100m+ portfolios) might lend stock in which we invested on their behalf, but that’s their decision not ours.

Some of our bond portfolios will take short exposure via derivatives. That is mainly for risk protection to remove specific betas.

Tigar - have to assume that SQZ management believe the acquisition of Tailwind assets is fair consideration. Time will tell if that proves to be the case or not.

Cheers Banbury, don’t rise to the bait. I think his intentions are well meant, but the constant repetition of the hissy fit that ‘some’ posters keep repeating is a bit tiring. I have refrained. The views of a certain Mr Raper are not universal truths…they are just his views. They’re not invalid, but that doesn’t make them valid.

Interesting outlook on your price forecasts. I am only interested in the returns that can be generated, which aligns with most shareholders. I feel the sole gas focus is risky (it always was, but we have seen the upside of that) and like the diversification route. Dilution etc are all downsides, but I am trying to look through to the synergies of the combination medium term.

Important we do not become tribal here. My belief is that we all want the same outcome, but see different routes to get there…and that’s perfectly ok and a feature of a healthy market.

Interested to know to what price you think it will soar and why. I don’t see much of the sector experiencing big share price increases right now. Why would an ‘as you were’ Serica soar?

There will also be lots of other compelling ideas competing for capital right now. They will also want to ‘manage’ exposure to the O&G sector, irrespective of upside prospects. Again, managing relative risk and ESG factors.

They are (legally) not allowed to know price-sensitive information that isn’t made public. It maybe that they have more colour around what is public, but it is their OPINION rather than their KNOWLEDGE on the transaction that is different. Just a thought.
