Many have been critical of I3E management until yesterday’s announcement, and then they suddenly bar up because it’s a positive update. Shareholders are a fickle bunch, and only quiet when the share price is rising. Fortunately they all know exactly how to unlock the share value of every company, but have rarely had to do it in their own working lives.

The market clearly did not appreciate the cash hoarding, hence the share price decline in recent months.

They will likely be out of their jobs before too long. Job security is not the rationale for the deal. So many are missing the point of this transaction and spouting off because the share price has dropped. Wonder if they’d dislike it as much if the price had risen 10% instead. Look at the long term value being sought here…

We’ll have to do cash upomega. I work for a large asset management firm and the compliance hurdles in transferring a share would be huge. Obviously will cover cost of you purchasing the share on market if I lose.

So, how will we prove the outcome? Broadridge and eVestment produce good data on net flows by market and investor type, remembering that it is UK Corporate DB plans being net buyers of public equities…
