Market is telling you the deal will not happen. If an offer comes in that is likely to succeed, price will react accordingly.

Yep, get a special divi out there and keep 100% of our company and its future upside. Balance sheet cash in the bank is a reflection of past success and is losing (in real terms) value every day, so is slowly being burned by inflation. It’s just wasting away…

What a rum offer? Little squirt offers us cash from our own piggy bank and a slither of his shiny paper? Watched this guy for years since igas…has never not been an investment banker. Reject!

Could be active flows in/out of their funds rather than them changing their view. Funds are generally not permitted/inclined to ‘trade’ sticks short term. Could, of course, be something entirely different. BlackRock is a beast and involved in multiple activities, including portfolio transition management.

Now yielding >50% based on my book cost. LoL! Purchased as a speculative E&P stock and now delivering steady, repeatable income. Funny old world.

Good points ELSteve. When signs of the inflation peak emerge, things will turn very quickly and risk appetite will return. A lot of money to be made when the dark cloud recedes and folks realise the sun can reappear.

Need to see the peak in inflation before this ends. Not seen it yet. That is when it will be clear that Fed is not going to kill the world. The rally can then begin. Some bombed stocks will rip up in a tear your face off type rally...

You haven’t lost anything until you sell your holding. If you think this stock offers value, stay with it. If you don’t, get out and roll the dice somewhere else. Value always gets realised in the end, but does require patience. Big returns are generally accompanied by higher levels of volatility…especially in commodity stocks.
