“Balanced and intelligent”? Blushing here, Dick. Gracious words. Haven’t been lauded this much since my last year end appraisal. Only joking.
I would love to launch The Common Sense Party to run this country. We would do normal things, we don’t claim to get everything right, admit our shortcomings, we don’t promise what we cannot deliver and we don’t spin the crap out of everything. Clearly not going to happen. I love my country, but I detest the way it is managed. I don’t know if I can vote next time out as nothing jives with me. Perhaps Reform, but I’m not sure.
31 years in the investment industry this year, and now running the clock down into the final handful of years. Have loved it, especially the crises that came along - at least one in each decade. Plenty of winners, plenty of losers. Contrary to what some on here implied a few weeks ago, SQZ is a PA holding and nowhere near client portfolios. (The latter are concentrated global equity mandates.) I believe we can make a decent return from this, but am prepared to sell up when that happens, based on factors prevalent at that time. Many other exciting opportunities, especially in funding early stage private companies. Need to max out there before EIS gets shut down by our future Red government.
A sibling of mine runs the North Sea O&G assets for a busy, global company. Those on the ground tend to know a huge amount more than the rest of us and way before anything is ever announced. Catching up tomorrow and will convey anything I think relevant. Knows Mitch and all the other players. Helps inform the few judgments that I make and share…
Cheers.
