If Europe's economies do not start again then there will be unrest and starvation which will result in far more deaths. Not everyone is retired or has the savings to ride out the Covid-19 storm (and retirees reliant on State pensions / investment income will soon start feeling the pain of the wider economy).

It is a choice between the 'devil you know' and the Grim Reaper coming to take us all away.

Are the Canadians the new French; do they speak the same language. Shareholders deserve to know? And, will they sell out if they cause a spike in the share price?

I just have a jaundiced view of UK tax collection and enforcement policies having worked for HMRC under both Labour and Conservative governments.

It was the Conservatives who decided that there would be no criminal prosecutions over the Swiss Leaks - if you want people to pay their taxes it helps if you enforce compliance, especially against those with the largest liabilities.

Kenny - some voted for Boris as they could not stomach Corbyn. We will never know how Labour would have performed against the Virus, but we do know that the Conservatives failed at a great expense to the economy and the NHS.

Biden appears the lessor of the 2 evils.
