I disagree - Scancell need funding. The funding comes from grants or the sale of shares by Scancell. Private investors mainly buy Scancells shares on the secondary market from other private investors. Any profit or loss on those transactions goes to the private investor, not Scancell.

If private investors with no understanding of the intrinsic value of Scancell's research force the price up beyond what an understanding institutional investor would pay you can end up getting a discounted placing to a financier who will sell the shares on the open market driving the price downwards.

Be careful what you wish for unless you are looking for a short term profit off the back of new investors who have less understanding of the intrinsic value. Do you really want short term investors like myself making profits on the back of others losses?
