And, he knows if he gets caught playing away from home whilst in office then God-fearing CONservatives will be done with him, and he will be out of the job he has craved for so long.

It may come down to her judgement, so I hope it is wise; with a young child she brings maternal responsibility. Poisoning the well just does not help.

The mRNA vaccines seem effective but no peer review has been published yet; it is not clear if they
prevent severe infection in the few who get infected or if someone who has been vaccinated and is then exposed to the virus without obvious effect can shed copies of the virus whilst their immune system deals with the infection.

Virologists whose opinions I trust seem convinced that these vaccines are safe, but they are a novel drug so long term effects, if any, are unknown. I am not in a priority risk group, so I have plenty of time to satisfy myself of their safety before I am offered a dose. In the meantime I am living clean, eating well and plotting a move to rural Cornwall.

From the NYT - having to do a trial against a 95% effective alternative leaves little wiggle room. Good thing there is lots of cash in the bank.

I hate reading statements like that.

The companies goods are mainly imported from China [95%] so any port delays will cause problem especially if they effect seasonal availability - summer sandals do no good in winter, do they?

Not only that, Brexit is likely to squeeze disposable income, especially in the lower-end target market which will be disproportionately effected by food inflation and un / under employment.

If he was adept at "the fib and the grand lie" then we would not see through the words so easily. Instead, many see the racism and nativism for what it is and like it. He is just a populist pandering to unspoken prejudices. That is bad enough, that it is likely to make us poorer and the nation more divided is a travesty.

We can only hope his enablers are brought to account someday...
