I bought some MAFL shares back this week at a bit cheaper than I sold them for when the results came out - they are sitting on a valuable copper resource that is just being ignored at the moment.

If I was part of the long term unemployed before Covid it would have been likely that there was an underlying issue [mental health, disability, addiction, family caring responsibilities, inadequate housing etc]. Now there are more people unemployed who have fewer disadvantages and more current work experience / skills. Who is going to get the job?

So those off furlough will find it easier to get a job and some who are not working are being paid 80% of what they were getting when they were working. But Job Seekers allowance is still less than £75 a week.

Does not seem fair to me.

Well worth watching the presentation (it was recorded). One of my concerns was whether they would need another placing and that was based on whether sales into the Brazilian soybean market for 2021/2 sowing would happen. Brazilian regulatory approval is expected "any day now".

I did a coin toss between a placing at a large discount (say 7p) and the anticipated increase in share price when approval is granted and bought back in on my judgement of the risk / reward ratio.

There was a PHC presentation this afternoon. One of the snippets they mentioned was a typical acre of Strawberries can see a yield improvement of $6000 per acre from their peptide application. A valuable return.

Surgical Innovations - I vaguely remember doing a quick. They had already fallen below the September placing price before today's news. They did not seem to make much in the way of free cash flow despite being slightly profitable before covid.

BUT - they are an example of a company that might do well if a trade deal with the US is agreed. I am not sure if their products are subject to tariffs. Keeping an eye out for companies that benefit from the ending of tariffs may be worthwhile - an area to keep an eye on especially if any company has their own US distribution network (ie - they were handling any tariff paperwork in-house) as they may be able to keep a portion of any benefits from freer trade and boost profit margins in the process whilst picking up more business.

Have a look at page 10 of the May investor presentation below. They list 13 investments in the Tactical Portfolio which totaled 15% of the net assets then. This had increased to 18% of the NAV per the Annual Accounts released earlier this month.

I disagree with your statement that "the Redcorp project could (potentially) be worth as much as the total m/c' - I personally think that it significantly exceeds it. The NAV in the accounts ended June was reported as £5.454m when listed investments were valued at £1m. The current m/cap is under £3m - selling the listed/liquid assets leaves £2m/cap for Redcorp and the other Strategic Investments which the company valued at £4.54m on a "Level 3 - Unquoted investments".

As Note 8 in the Accounts states: "Level 3 – valued by reference to valuation techniques using inputs that are not based on observable market criteria." I think that the Redcorp valuation is conservative; time will tell if I am correct and by how much. It is worth keeping an eye on Ascendant Resources as they are the prospecting partner and their share price has risen significantly recently on the back of promising drilling results (the 'native copper').

As many repeatedly note, this is not a get rich tomorrow investment [even though outside interest in LS cannot be dismissed in a buoyant copper market].

These are the same "consumers" who will be "supporting" the economic "recovery". I think a lot of people do not see the growing poverty amongst us or understand the long term damage being done to our local economies.

Nothing commercially sensitive that has not been released to the market can be discussed. I am expecting a recap of how PREtec works, the progress made on producing commercial quantities, field results and distribution plans. All of this is already in the public domain.

I am a dispassionate investor who follows a set of predetermined rules - I associate Investor Presentations with drumming up support for fund raises, and they are normally done at a discount. As such, I sold the shares I had after the RNS came out and locked in the profit I was sitting on. The placing in Feb this year was at "a discount of approximately 43.9 per cent."

I will be watching the presentation and having a thorough read of any reading material issued as I will most likely be a buyer again in the future and will be trying to get a better idea of the timing of future cash flows.
