PMQs - Fabricant has dyed the fringe on his wig a shade of green. Our society is better by being wider even if those we think are tottering on the edge seem a wee bit strange.

Many would wonder why I am so allergic to working that I retired in my forties instead of working longer and earning more wonga; but not that many I know buy second hand clothes... Many would think I am tottering on an edge.

I agree - your posts may seem odd to me at times but if people did not have differing opinions there would not be anybody for me to buy or sells shares from / to. Especially as I am only holding shares for a few weeks or months at the moment; a grand or two profit and I am hightailing it back into the undergrowth.

As if politics do not affect bank valuations; people complain because they do not like your views not because they are political. I tend to be more careful on that board when I post something political, pointing out the relationship between political decisions, the wider economy and bad debts that damage the value of banks.

To think some of the die hard fans there have been holding those shares for years in the hope of dividends whilst watching the resale value of their holdings slowly diminish. Losers comes to mind...

As has been pointed out a couple of times recently MAFL is undervalued based on its conservative asset valuations. The potential of Lagoa Salgada ['potentially' a very significant copper / zinc resource in a stable and mining friendly Portugal] is not factored into the current share price.

The increase in the ASDN share price of 75% over the last month or so is worth reflecting on as they currently only own a small share of the project and are funding the exploration costs to gain a greater share - how many other AIM miners are backed up by other assets and have someone else paying for the exploration costs?

If UKOG were actually profitable and encouraging other exploration companies then the bunnies might be hopping mad but at the moment that does not seem to be happening.

I see opportunities in the international food chain and businesses involved in the local building trade. Food is going to have to be grown smarter and greening our hosing estate has to happen. Finding the winners is never easy, but I expect some older players to fall by the wayside especially if they have fixed costs that are hard to shift [rental agreements and pensions].

The more nimble will survive and thrive.

Maybe they want the price down to closer to what they might be doing a placing at - the discount would not seem so bad if the price had already dropped?

I sold my PHC share last week when they announced an Investors Presentation but remain very interested in their long term prospects. One of their seed treatments [which will hopefully receive authorisation before next year's planting season] helps "drought--proof" soybeans by stimulating the root system and the symbiotic relationship with helpful bacteria and enzymes.

Soy prices are up a third over the last 6 months and demand is increasing as China rebuilds their protein food chain [chicken and pork]. Decreases in the value of the Brazilian Real and US Dollar are making Chinese imports of feedstock and processed animals relatively cheaper.

All good for PHC - the question is how well will I be able to time buying back in? I think they are planning a large fund raise for the old chestnut of "working capital" and to "explore acquisitions" both of which make some sense but will likely be at a discount if it were to happen [the significant shareholders will want to squeeze out existing shareholders and there is always a discount when companies try to run before they can walk, even if they end up being Usain Bolt].

It is nearly all over now - some far-fetched legal games are still to play out [the megaboom from sectorbreakdown] but most of the games have just been Trump raising slush funds. The Texan playing the big game for him is just trying to get a pardon.
