Brainless bottom feeders are always attracted to a share that has had a deeply discounted placing. People who were in before the placing and average down start bigging up the share to justify to themselves why they are averaging down instead of taking a loss. Now there are even more speculative people invested who start posting positive and possibly unfounded comments about bags, sports cars, fast women etc.
In the meantime the BOD get paid and the "investors" flip their shares whilst second hand shareholders mop up the placing shares. It is where the phrase rinse and repeat comes from. Some people are not sceptical enough when they buy a share...
When I was a Turf Accountant I did a quick audit of the races I had bet on each day to identify where I had made money I should not have as I was not in the business of making money by mistake.
