Who would have thought you could get such a polite and reasonable answer from a computer. As I have posted before, I use a Chromebook with all sorts of extensions. I do not use it for personal / financial stuff, so am not too concerned about safety.

ChatGPT has recently been released; this is a Chrome extension that returns ChatGPT results next to Google results when you do a Google search.

Seems to be the Trump Approach - reduce testing and the cases go down. Xi is taking a massive gamble; he needs to 'ease controls' to stop popular protests that make him look weak and threaten the Party's rule. But, easing controls when people are spending more time indoors close to each other just as the Chinese New Year approaches with all the associated travel and indoor mixing means that daily infection rates will spike, potentially into the tens of millions.

Will they be able to reopen after the Chinese New Year?

A cynic might say that the strategy is to give grants to companies that will employ unemployed Tory ministers; with the number of PMs recently there is a surplus and there will be even more when Labour get into power. Grants help keep the revolving door well oiled.
