Peter Z on Covid in China. He is predicting that China will effectively stop manufacturing for 3 to 4 months as Covid sweeps through a largely unprotected population. Personally, I think it will be worse as supply chains get themselves into knots. If the April / May monsoons fail again, then China as we know it changes beyond recognition.

I have a chunk of cheese in DUKE who recently doubled their loan facility and reduced the interest rate premium the loan incurs by 2.25%. Stockpedia's comments show just how impressed the lender must have been with DUKE's assets and investing criteria.

Some were not impressed by the new financing arrangement. To put it into perspective, Trackwise did a placing today at a 92% discount. The Stockpedia comment included:

'Be careful out there, conditions are really grim for small caps that run out of cash.'

Not only did DUKE want more cash, but was able to borrow more at a cheaper rate. Their lenders were clearly impressed by the figures they saw.

Trackwise - the biggest discount seen in a long time. How do they get away with behaviour like that?

Clearly making sure your 2022/3 CGT allowance is used before it is reduced will make sense if you have some profit waiting to be realised in a trading account. They also have a paragraph about SIPP payments for non taxpayers which some are not aware of or do not take advantage of even if they are aware. A free £720 every year is not to be sneezed at:

"6. Could you pay into a pension for a spouse or child?Investing in a pension for a non-earning spouse or child is a lesser-known giveaway. You can add up to £2,880 to a loved one’s pension and the government will add up to £720 in tax relief (assuming the individual is under 75), even if the individual doesn’t earn anything. If they earn more than £3,600 you can pay in as much as they earn up to the annual allowance (£40,000 for most people), and they’ll benefit from tax relief. They’ll usually be able to access the money from age 55 (57 from 2028). This won’t affect how much you can pay into your own pension."

HE1 - I never understood the optimism. They will never be able to afford a cryogenic plant, and then shipping Helium in tankers once frozen to liquid on African infrastructure seems another insurmountable hurdle.

Or get the S10m in and return most of it to shareholders as a 20p per share dividend and still have a NAV that supports the current share price.

That is an interesting post - Valirx was 20p then and 11.75p now. Down 40% since then... Clearly the confidence was misplaced; a bit like calling the 52-week low of 0.09p the bottom and to then see UKOG's share price fall another 30%.

Brilliant - you must be a top economist, even though you have been positive whilst the share price has dropped by over 95%.

But there is a major flaw in your argument, you will need those "potential buyers" to become actual buyers, otherwise the demand you are relying on is not there.

Closing share price 23/11 was 0.0675p. The share price is currently 0.062p, down 8% since the 23rd.

How is that a rerate unless you think the sinking of the share price is a rerating downwards.
