When hospitals carry out surgery they need to have intensive acre available in case something goes wrong. When a patient is operated on privately, the hospital has to reserve intensive care in case something goes wrong... And if something does go wrong then the NHS pays for the critical care. So the poor who cannot afford to go private are effectively subsidising the rich, yet again.

Same with paying not to have to wait for a MRI scan; if an urgent referral is needed as a result of the scan the NHS gets the referral and pays for the care. In the meantime a poor person stays in the queue that the wealthy person just jumped and potentially goes from saveable to a terminal diagnosis.

3 - This might the biggest problem. Ruzzian oil is being sanctioned by insurance markets. If shipments are not insured they cannot travel through territorial waters without risking being seized as illegal cargoes. If they cannot ship the oil it stays in the ground which can result in pressure damage to reservoirs. And there is water in Ruzzian oil - freeze water [-21C today in Moscow] and it expands and can then crack pipes. And significant reduction in long term Ruzzian oil supply to India and China will send oil over $200 and then cause an almighty recession.

Be careful out there; it seems as though having exposure to a producer likely to be increasing short term output might be a wise hedge.

They will have an idea what the compensation the company will receive after fees. If it is around $10m and the m/cap goes up by £100m, they would be on legally dubious grounds if they do not react. I do not know the company and the backstory, let alone have a clue what the net settlement will be. But I do know that this type of news can attract industrial strength ramping that can far overvalue the news; if I was a holder, I would be watching like a hawk to see if I could time the exit well if the price started going above my target.

It was looking bleak for property; this just makes it worse. An BlackRock charge a few percent a year to 'manage' these funds. It would not surprise me if they were to open a new fund for distresses property and buy from the fund that needs the liquidity, as they would not want to see the few billion out the door together with those precious fees.
