And if GOV had not changed the mortgage interest relief rules for landlords, then there would not be a squeeze on renters and a glut of buy to let properties about to hit the market. Which just adds to more pressure on property prices, which just increases bad debts and puts more pressure on banks profitability.

And that is before they are forced to account for any mark-to-market losses on GOV bonds they bought before interest rates went up and the value of the bonds went down. The forecast for banks is not as rosy as some would like to believe...

And yet, electricity and gas prices consumers pay remain at all-time highs! What are they smoking...?

MAFL is a ramp free company - there are no bills to pay that there are no funds for nor are there exploration costs that need a placing for. No ramping and little superfluous communication from management means there is little demand at the moment.

There is some Golden Sun news expected soon which might create some short term demand but the share price might aimlessly drift downwards in the mean time as short term speculators see sells and decide it is time to chase another shiny rainbow elsewhere.

Fine by me as I am always interested in grabbing another trading opportunity is the price drops far enough whilst we wait to see how the feasibility study at LS pans out and whether MAFL's remaining 5% free carry gets sold at the 10% discounted cash free value.

The BIG question to me is if there will be a distribution to shareholders if the 5% is disposed of as it would support a distribution of the current share price and leave a healthy NAV. Does JV want some retirement money in cash for a ski villa?

Nonsense - I used to work in Compliance. Firstly, avoidance is legal [I expect you have an ISA, SIPP etc]. Secondly, HMRC target 'yield' and how much they can book in reports to the Treasury. They are understaffed and do not undertake criminal prosecutions, having let virtually all criminal investigators go under Blair / Brown. In addition, there is politics always at play; despite there being a known problem in the horse racing industry, it had a hands-off policy whilst I worked for them as there were too many rich foreigners whose affairs would get touched. I would imagine that there is currently pressure from central GOV to avoid stirring into the Covid testing / PPE industry as it will just rake mud on politically connected people.
