I personally think the government's control the price of oil , it's as simple as that! Not directly but through policy. Trump in a matter of weeks smashed up the price of oil. As soon as there is economic volatility the price of oil decreases, and it doesn't take much to control the volatility, just a few words from those in the hot seats.

So your saying that because letter one made a public announcement then market screener updated ? but if there isnt such public announcement then market screener have just as much as an idea as pi's ?

But when LetterOne had been buying they appeared on MarketScreener straight away.

And as for basf , they havnt been selling. Market screener still states they have 46.5% holding. What i have noticed on ft.com is that there has been alot of institutional buying (i.e bank of Denmark) .

Well if the merger with Talos was to happen then now is the time. Especially with their share price which is down 27% in a year at all time lows. And from memory they have no ceo.

Well Linda Cook and Carlos Slim are down by quite a large amount , purchased more all the way down to these levels so make of that what you will ! They seem to be confident in the future of hbr.

And thanks Londoner , basically what your highlighting is natural shareholder growth with the company gradually buying itself back. Patience is the game.

read this , basically BASF is a slow sinking ship financially , and i guess Wintershall Dea is just another drain , so turning WD into cash will underpin BASF's accounts. You have to remember WD's Russian assets were frozen and WD took massive losses. Thats why i think HBR can get a good deal from this.

LetterOne are pretty ambitious when it comes to a successful energy company too , so with letterone still onboard it looks like basf will look for a backdoor exit swiftly.

Decom costs equite to 10billion but company expects to pay this over the next 40 years but pay majority over next 10 to 20 years.

Another one to note , for full year 2024 combined hbr and wintershall would of generated 10billion revenue and 3billion profit before tax.

That's a pretty good outcome. Especially when oil literally kissed $90 for a brief moment in 2024.

So ,

26% oil production at $77

48% euro nat gas hedged at $14mscf

20% other gas is traded at a fixed price

If that includes decommissioning then that's alright then.

Bit of a nothing article then , 4billion debt and 30billion assets , not bad at all.

And zebo, it would be great if basf would drop their shares in the market at this price. What a steal that would be ! That's a dream !

And regarding the uk north sea , production is minimal at 150k boepd so are keeping the oil and gas in the ground for when times are good ;)

The best thing is hbr have excellent assets , and cheap production. Just need to sort out the basf shares. From what I saw , the latest basf results weren't too good so all being well hbr can purchase their shares at a great price.

Well the company reassured investors that everything was in perfect shape during the capital markets day ! It's a tight run ship with protective hedges in place and cheap debt rates ! The sp can go up as quick as it has gone down, just have to wait for that day for now.
