It seems theres nothing wrong with holding oil and gas stock , gas is bullish whereever you look now and oil is stable. Just a shame the sp is poor. Guess it bodes well for the super rich ogliarchs who hold north sea o and g shares while getting paid fortunes in divis ! maybe thats part of the government plana afterall.

Well previously positive broker upgrades sent the sp north. Not alot else does.

To be fair another catalyst could be viking ccs or acorn announcements , those two could provide further enhanced cash flow.

It is frustrating that we havnt seen the broker upgrade that we need ! hopefully the board have something up their sleeve regarding the basf share buybacks asap !

Well put it this way , Norway 180k boepd UK 150k boepd , while the epl exists oil is staying in the ground. I'm pretty sure I have read decomissiong can be used as tax relief so this will help balance the books for the UK operation. Also UK gas prices will remain high too so that's another bonus.

You only have to look at the charts to see this is going lower. Rsi is rock bottom , stowchastic pointing down , price channel below support line. It's in a terrible downtrend which match the awful financials over the years , low value assets and loads of debt. . This is going bust.

Nothing is going on. Just a flat market day for hbr. Need a few brokers upgrades to come through but they seem to be dragging their heels ....

So , with the trading update out the way and the market doing what it does , going up and down gradually making its way into the 200p's (hopefully the bottom is now in) , when do you think we will likely hear about the basf share purchase?

I think that along with broker upgrades, this will be the next catalyst, markets dont like uncertainty and the basf purchase is the only uncertainty that remains.

Usual market practice. No doubt tomorrow's open will add another 5p onto the sp. Could do with some broker updates this week and we will be flying.

Also, Mr Orange man is pro oil and there are no alternatives now thanks to him after cancelling all green subsidies.

US can't continue to produce at record levels

US need to fill the spr

Driving season will support the price of oil

Europe won't return to Russian oil and gas

UK ar refusing to produce more oil and gas so therefor increasing the price

All in all hbr are in an amazing position and will make us rich. Just need a simple basf share transaction and the sp will double in 2 months imo.

Well it's the 0.9billion fcf with Brent at $65 dollars which is the game changer.

Well the big boys are in town and I guess they know what they are doing so I'm fine with that. Especially now it's possible to buy such a great company at low prices ! Happy days.

I think BASF want out asap given their latest financial results , by the sound of it BASF can just about cover the dividend at the moment so therefore i imagine they want the cash from this sale to balance the books furthermore.
